I ran it at Conroe & was just barely edged out by Lucky 7's. At the time my boat was lucky to run 90. Jason said he had to work to get past me & it wasn't easy. I think low 90's is more realistic for the boat. |
On the right day it would do 99 though.
I was in it, in the bich seat, saw it on the speedo and smartcraft monitor. It took a loong time to get there, but it did do it. |

After the dealer meeting or photoshoot (I forget), Barbara wanted it to go straight to the ramp to be pulled. I should have went left out of the Sanibel resort to the ramp, but went right instead to at least make one pass. Saw around 97 but I didnt go far enough because the bridge (and little sherrif boat) was right there!:drink: |
Lucky 7's
Lake Erie August 2007 Six people on board Lucky 7's with light fuel at end of the day. We leave Kelly's Island and are running 78 to 79 MPH WOT and they pass us like we are going backwards with JR Jenny at the helm. We arrive at the docks at Port Clinton and I walk over and hit the recall which had been reset and it said 99.9 MPH. The GPS did not lie and we gave JR a lot of grief for not hitting the century mark. Team Baja was there on my boat as was Jason Billmeyer and I don't think the GPS was lying. |
I would also like to say that based on the speeds I personally saw in Poker Face and on Split Decision I can believe that Lucky was close to triple digits for sure.
Poker Face with four people and light fuel and 100 degree temps: With current 89 MPH GPS Against Current 86 MPH GPS That was with 525's Split Decision with seven people and fuel of fuel and we see 92 MPH on GPS with 700's on Lake Erie last August. Will a 35 run 10 MPH faster with an extra 350 to 400 HP? YES Will a 35 run 7-8 MPH faster than a 40 with the same power? YES Come on guys what did the Hawkeye 35 end up running? Something like 103 if memory serves me right. |

Something like 103 if memory serves me right. Jeff told me that when they took it down to the powerboat magazine test down at Fla. they had it up to 105, Teague and JT only managed 100 out of it though. The day before my ride in L7's, during the poker run, both boats( L7's and green boat) passed me at a pretty good clip, and I was doing 88ish.....that is after they caught me:drink: |
