Whats it gonna take....
To sell 2006 30 Outlaw? Boat is SST with 496 mags around 100hrs. Only upgrades form stock is captains call exhaust, upgraded stereo with amp, subs, speakers, sattelite, 2 stereo remotes (helm + transom), Garmin gps, full cover on Eagle triple axle trailer. Also have gps speedo that needs to be installed. Had posted here, ebay, trader...No interest. What is a "fair" price on a 30 Outlaw? I advertised high 80's thinking that was a good number. Especially with all accessories-life jackets, lines, fenders, first aid kit, etc. Thanks, for any input. Jason

High 80's is not bad, that's a lot of boat for the $$$. Not much going on out there right now. I have a couple "steels" on the lot and those are getting interest, but not much else.

IMO unless your willing to just give it away you might have it for awhile. With the way the market is right now unless people can steal it they won't even consider it.

Jay If you have to sell it, it probably won't move until it's priced ridiculous low. Just seems to be the way things are right now. |
I've been at $64k on our 2001 33 Outlaw with Mags for a few months and get a call/email about once a month. I agree, it's just a bad time to sell. I would think at $80's for your boat your very close to a steal?!

eddie:
where do you have your boat advertised? send me a link or send me some pics and info on it. is it listed with a broker? [email protected] jc |
What do you guys think is ridiculously low? I was thinking in the 80's kind of was. I am very interested in another boat but I don't want to be a 2 boat owner again. Thanks.

It would take you to trade me for my 25 Outlaw! If I could sell mine I would upgrade
|
|
I am trying to send and is giving me a error going to keep trying.

There is an 04 30 OL in the classifieds for $64,900. I would think if you put in the upper $50's it would go quick. Like someone said, you pretty much have to give away to get rid off. I would be very interested if you are willing to "fire sale" it.
|
Until I get this to worked it is listed on speedwake.com classifieds with pictures. I am willing to deal!
the 30 you are talking about is that the one in Goodletville, TN?I have a friend there and asked about the boat but he hasn't got back to me |

Isn't it amazing that when you buy a boat the dealer(seller) thinks it's worth a mint but when you try to sell it people think it ain't worth ****????????

Jay Hey have you ever hear of the "Three F Rule"? "If it Flies, Floats or F**ks" it is cheaper to rent than to buy. |

Yeah I always pay too much and seem to have to sell cheap to get out of anything that flys, floats and rolls.

If you are looking for a "fire sale" you should buy that one asap!! I traded in my 2000 29 a little over a year ago with 500 hours for more than that. Depression/recession or not thats one heck of a deal!! Upper 50's is kind of funny. Thats beyond.....way beyond....a deal!!

I hate to say it, but they are right. For you to sell that boat your going to have to get down into the 60's to move it. This market is dead and with the amount of repo's out there the prices are in the cellar. There's a couple 30's listed for in the 60's and aren't selling and a 03 38 Sonic with 500's for 65k listed...People are looking to steal boats right now if they are buying otherwise they'll buy new. They don't want to be in the same position your in or anyone else that is trying to sell. This market will take awhile to come back so your either stuck in a "firesale" scenerio or enjoying what you have and waiting.
I'm keeping what I have and going to enjoy it as long as I can. It does not matter what you are buying or building. If you have money right now you can get a deal. I got a 20 x 38 foot concrete slab put down today for a new shop and the contractor told me he has only worked seven days since October. My neighbor is a builder for a large company and they have no work. He is going to frame it in over the next two weeks for CHEAP just for Christmas money. There are a lot of people hurting out there right now with no jobs and those with jobs are saving ever penny just in case they are out of work in the future. I still see difficult times ahead because our government will not let the free market system work. If they tax the rich we will definately see things get much worse. If my boat ends of on the repo auction block I'll let you know it might be a good deal. We have seen a drop in our business since October of 30% and I'm just trying to keep our people working right now. |
KBB has just started readjusting prices weekly instead of monthly because the prices are falling so fast. That is scary. You are chasing the market down and 60's will seem like a dream in a few months. Go to Ferrari Chat and read the threads about monthly depreciation on some very nice cars. Cars that sold for way over sticker just months ago are a fire sale now.

If you're stuck with your boat I could think of a lot worse boats to be stuck with than a 30 Outlaw with 496's! Just keep it and enjoy what you've got. I'm taking Doc's example and just going to do upgrades every year. |
just an example i saw a like new demo 40 foot baja exp cruiser, 496ho 36 hrs, and gennie... loaded go for 75k... that was in the summer before the meltdown... list like 390k according to mags

Jay HAHAHAHA, well in defense of some dealers our boats are usually New. However we feel the same way with many clients who come in the shop. I chit you not, guys come in with 1980's POS, and want retail plus 10K on trade, because the motor is new 7 years ago. I promise as many dealers who have given youa run around, I have had 100times more idiots come into the shop. The best I had this year was a guy who wanted to trade his 1987 22sport, (in bad condition) for a new 20 Outlaw, he started as an even trade, then said he would be willing to go 5K in on it, but anymore and I was an *******. When i refused, he seriously wanted to fight, I had to ask him to leave.:waffen093: Had another who had no money, couldn't get a loan to save his life, and threatened my life if I didn't get him approved. Anyway about your boat, seriously to get a real value for your boat, I bet you would be better off trading it, it is not your boat its the market. unreal:drink: |

Will,
I was not attacking you or dealers in general. My statement was meant to be a generalization and nothing more. All of us have been waltzed around the floor before, it's just personal preference how long you want to put up with it before you show people the door. Most boat owners are proud of their boats(POS or not) and think they are worth more than the current market, me included!!! Jay |

I'm sure he did as well. Isn't it past your bed time? What for that brown truck this week.:evilb: Dock |
