35 Outlaw with Mercury Racing 525's

Hello this my first thread here. I was wondering if anyone has put the 525 kits on a 35.

Welcome to the site. I have not heard of any installed yet but there may be some. A lot of good folks here on the Baja OSO side and I'm sure you will get some replies.

What is horsepower they produce? Is it actually equal to the Merc 525? If so the 35 runs very well with 525's in the 80's.

I drove Poker Face which was a light lay up and it was like a rocket ship.

That would be one sick ride. Looking forward to seeing how this thread unfolds. :ernaehrung004:

Did they install headers, I'm on the fence with that.

If they do indeed make 525hp, the boat should
run low, mid 80's....better figure a prop upgrade too.

There is a wealth of knowledge on this site...
probably more here than anyplace else.

Have you posted this in general Q & A ?

If its the same upgrade we sent to him, they dyno 550hp, and yes you will need bigger props, but the motors will rpm more also I think 5300 vs the 4800 before. I am sure Ray will jump in soon and give all the answers.:ernaehrung004:

I already figured on buying new propellers if I upgrade. I've been in contact with Ray about the install. I'm starting to think about Mercury Racing 525's although. I'm perfectly happy with the Raylar kits, I'm just getting skeptical about actually gaining 10 mph. If I can get that with my hull I'll do it.

Hi Red,
525 even used will set you back about 40-50k. Some include exhaust others not.
I agree with Dock the Ralyar will be very close to power of the 525's. I do believe the 525's are underrated some.

Either setup should net you low 80's. Poker face was a light layup and I thnk it may have hit 90 a few times but mostly a high 80 mph boat. Still low 80's is nice
My goal would be 80's in most condiitons and a top of 84 or so in the best conditions:evilb:

Keep us posted.
Yes this is a bunch of info posted in general Q&A. Also some other boat brands.
