Still trying to get this thing back together. Two layers of biax last weekend and four this weekend to try to get the inside leveled out and add to the piddly two layers from the factory. I overdid the center a little bit and have to build up the sides sone now but its all good. Using vinyl ester resin, so far its been pretty good, with the cool temps had some good workability times. Should be ready to put the wood in next weekend fix the holes from the outside. Haven't decide yet if I'm going to try to move the x-dim up some or just put things back the way they were. It sure would save a lot of time to just put things back in the same place.

Looks good Brent. So what were you guys cleaning and waxing yesterday, the cigarette? I didn't get done until almost 6 so I figured you were already heading back by then. Just need a load of dirt out there and it is ready for the new renter. Are you planning on putting the wood in Saturday? Let me know before the weekend and I'll come out and give you a hand

c_deezy 03-16-2009 11:04 AM

Yeah, hopefully be ready to put the wood in this weekend. Gonna try to run over Tues or Wed and get everything flat and hopefully it will be ready. I'm just ready to get that in and start moving forward. I don't think the stringers/floor will take near as long as this damn transom did.

Hey Brent, This is Tony from Toledo, Just wondering if you ever got that bow rail you were looking for the last time we talked. I too had to put stringers and a floor in my sport. To answer your question YES the main stringers do go all the way to the front into the cuddie. The front bulkhead is located in the center of the stringers and glassed in place.. If you have any questions I can help with just call.

c_deezy 04-06-2009 12:08 AM

Nope, I called that dude and he said he already took it to the dump :( , I'll probably just end up taking them off and filling the holes and putting a rail down the middle. Thanks for the stringer info, I figured they ran all the way to the bow, I just haven't gotten that far to rip the cuddy out yet. Should be getting into that beginning of next week. Just about got the transom flattened/leveled out to put the wood back in, do the engine room stringers and rear bulkhead and start moving forward. It's coming along, slowly but surely :D

if you put it back stock I have a 2'' imco shortie case Iam selling going to a konrad set up:p that ace unit costs what the boat cost in 1988:p. I got one person thinking about it. go to the swap and see if I have anything you need. I tried to buy a 20'sutphen monday and was going to keep all my stuff and use it on that, it was blank transom cut for bravo I could of put my 670hp motor with the bravox drive and steering:p later

Progress!!!! Got the new wood in, but had to shift gears to a boat that is actually usable. Had the first run of the year tonight, it was fugging cold but still, we were eating up Lake Erie on my cuz's Top Gun!

New transom is cured, just need to pull the jigs off, fill the corners and lay a couple layers of biax in and move on to the stringers.
