SO 38 views, and not a single comment? thought for sure someone would say something even if bad. hows the trim look? you can here it bouncing a little, not sure why it does it only at WOT. and i can trim it all the way down and it will stop but other thatn that it just bounces.

Same porpose my 272 used to have till I had the hull blueprinted. Drop the tabs just a touch and it will stop.

Lil close to shore though !!!! How deep is that water?

tabs help a little but not much, once i get itt o stop it drops like 4 mph

How big are your tabs? If you have short bennets then they will slow you down,,,, you need longer ones that just the tips touch

Oh,,, and by the way,,,,, thats about the worst top speed for that boat,,,,, if you can get another 5-7 mph out of it,,, it will drive through the porpose and flatten out again.

I had a 2000 model 272 with 502 Mag and the paint was always burnt off the sides of the skeg from over trimming.

yea it has the stock dual ram tabs (short).

How can i get that much more out of it with out LOTS of money? BB blades said he could work the 23p 3 blacde to get another 3-4 out of it. think that would get to the flat spot?

water is about 25 foot deat. the video was take from standing on my buddies 24 foot chapperal anchored nose out off a beach.

the bottom of my skeg is not black either, i did not think it would be from over trimming?

yep,,,,, from over trimming,,,,,believe it or not,,,, you will actually start burning a hole in the skeg,,,,,Ill see if I can find a pic somewhere.

Cheapest way,,,,, buy a complete motor and sell your complete motor !!!!!

Get some longer tabs to,,,,, I have a set of Martiniboat's bennett to fake Kplane tabs around here somewhere,,,, he used my boat as a template for the conversion.

Thats amazing about the over trimming, so how fare it about good trim? i think about just under the 1/2 mark is best, but if you want that extra 2mph, got to get it above 1/2 and right below 3/4.

I am not swapping motors out, i use the boat to party and cruse, and take trips on so no motor swaps at this point, plus I have alot of other projects. 25 and to many toys.

how much you think the lab work on the prop will help? worth the 300 bucks?

There was a 272 down in Jacksonville at a poker run we did severla times and he ran a solid 80 MPH and the boat looked totally stock. He had a carbed big block making around 650 HP and he could drive it.

I used to trim my 272 out till the center " tail " or rooster was just breaking the surface,,,, that seemed to be the fastest on my setup.

What power is in it?

how much for tabs? they bolt up to the stock dual ram set up?

my boat has a 454 Mag, in it with just under 300 hours.

$400,,,,,, correct,,,,, the bolt holes were taken right from the Bennett tab as well as the ram location,,,,, direct swap.

if you don't mind with stock power, what will i notice?

I have allways heard you can bump tabs down a little and it will lift the ass end up and pick up a mph or two, i know my stock ones do not do that. and i NEVER use them.


So please explain whawt you think this will do for me iin more detail if you can.

I dont believe they will give you any more speed,,,, its still drag,,,,, but the angle will be less and wont be gouging the water like the shorter tabs to be effective.
