Baja 190 Islander Rebuild
3 Attachment(s)
Here was a fun little project we completed over last summer on a 1990 Baja 190 Islander that sat behind my barn for about three years. Since everyone likes to see as many photos as possible, I will try to group them as before and after.
Now, I know that everyone is NOT an "Ohio State" fan but the boat was an original Scarlet, and Gray color and it was a natural choice to show a little custom touch with it. Bash lightly.... XT:cool: |

The seating was "back to backs" from Overton's or something?
We used the newer 20 Outlaw style bucket seats on slider pedestals on the refinish. |

The original engine was a 3.0L without power steering, and needed the fin on the drive to help plane-off. It also had the "dogbox" rear seating over the engine.

New power is a 2005 4.3L V6 with power steering, and newer gen. Alpha drive. 195 HP is the perfect size engine in this model.

Anyone need new decals for their Baja?

Original bilge area was painted with a black paint that would ware off easy. Here is a little thing that we did a few years back. I started by painting everything with a dove gray gel, and while it is still wet......you take a squeeze bottle with a color gel that is catalized, and you just go to town with the design.

Well I need to stop for the day, but I have a ton of photos of this project and cannot post all of them. Here are some nice finished photos, note the custom "football" motorlid design.
