Hey XT-Innovator

2 Attachment(s)
Just wondered if you received my e-mail back to you with the picture of the Baja foam filled logo that is on the back of our boat.

Thanks.

XT-Innovator 02-14-2009 12:27 PM

Thurl,

Guess what, I found one! Was your address in the email? I will send it out on Monday.

XT:cool:

STUCK 02-14-2009 12:57 PM

That's great thanks. No my address wasn't so I'll pm you my address and let me know how much you want for it.

XT-Innovator 02-14-2009 04:56 PM

I stuck them in the mail today. "Them" meaning that I added another one that was a prototype sample we never went with in production. It may look good on your boat, or just put it on your truck?

XT, I have a question for you. On the 24 Outlaws, were there hinges on the rear bench seat bottom ?

STUCK 02-15-2009 09:23 AM

Thanks a lot and I'm sure I can find a place for the other one.

STUCK 02-15-2009 06:28 PM

XT I have another question for you and that's about hatch screens. Do you sell those or do you know where I can get them for a 2005 Baja 275 and what kind of price for them. My wife wishes we had them on our boat not sure why since we haven't overnighted in it. I see it was an option on Baja's web site when I went into the archives to see.

Thanks again for all your help.

I know the 240 Sport was not hinged, and I think it was 93' or 94' that all models became hinged on the rear bench storage?

XT:rolleyes:

Well lets see, the 275 was last built in 2007 so Fountain will not stock any of them. You can try to contact Sea Ray to purchase them but you will need a Baja dealer to do that, and most of them tell me that they cannot get ahold of anyone in Parts that know the Baja product. I guess that leaves XT-Innovations to get ahold of the vendor and get you a price. I will contact them tomorrow, and email you what I find out.

PS. It is a obsolete item, but I do not see a reason the vendor could not still reproduce them.

XT:cool:

STUCK 02-15-2009 07:47 PM

Thanks. I know I'm not doing any major upgrades or not planning on spending a lot of money on the boat but you are going to be the first person to get in touch with if I'm trying to find something. Hope that's ok so please don't leave this place in case I need help or info.

Baja_man 02-16-2009 04:44 PM

Hey XT, not to high jack this thread but have you or do you remove bottom paint from boats and what kind of labor/price is involved?

STUCK 02-17-2009 07:55 PM

Thanks XT got them in the mail today and I'm sure I'll find a place for the other one.

Did you have any luck getting hold of XT Innovators on seeing if you have or are able to get the hatch screens for my 275?

Thanks again.

Baja_man 02-19-2009 10:25 AM

XT, did you miss post #11? Not sure if this is your lane or not.

Nope, we don't mess with that type of work. I do know many unemployed Baja/Checkmate workers that might be interested, if you what to tow it to Bucyrus? TEAMBAJA is good with a buffer.......we will just switch his pad to a grinding pad when he is not looking?

30 outlaw 2005 02-19-2009 03:44 PM

XT another Question for you.

I was wondering if you guys also can get me the inserts for a mirrored Engine hatch on a 30 Outlaw?

Also do you have any of the Baja factory stickers for the sides??? Purple fade

Thanks Rob

wotw2e, has the only 30 Outlaw that I know, to have a nice mirrored motorlid. Maybe he still has some patterns?

I can order Baja logos from the vendor that made your originals. Give me the measurement from the tip of the "B" to the tip of the "a" of the decal on your boat. Send us a email at [email protected] and I will get you pricing.

XT:cool:

STUCK 02-19-2009 08:26 PM

XT did you have a chance to see if you can find the hatch screens for my 275 and how much for them.

Thanks.

Thurl

XT-Innovator 02-19-2009 09:46 PM

Thurl,

Message sent but nothing yet. I keep hearing the same story with most marine vendors, that there are less people wearing more hats. I will keep plugging away with them.

XT:cool:

STUCK 02-20-2009 06:18 AM

Thanks XT. That's fine I was just checking to see if you had any luck.

Baja_man 02-20-2009 07:19 AM

XT, Any recommendations on someone removing the bottom paint there in OH?

30 outlaw 2005 02-24-2009 08:30 PM

Sea Strainers

Dave, Where and how would you mount sea strainers in a 30 outlaw? Not sure where I can bolt them to with the liner in there. Thanks
Rob

Really this is another good question for WOTW2E. He is the rigging expert, that also owns a 30ol. It is going to make a big difference on what model sea strainer, and current options on your boat to determine this?

XT:cool:

30 outlaw 2005 02-25-2009 05:47 PM

Ok then I ask WOTW2E. There are no other additional options in the engine compartment I just have the motors no gen or fresh water(that is under the seat). Just not sure where I can bolt them to. Not sure if you have them in your boat or not. Just dont want to drill into something and cause a problem. Thanks. Also did you get a chance to get the info on the hatch mirror.

No problem, I would like to see some photos of the 204 you have sometime, when you get the chance.

Did you like the 190 Islander we re-modeled last summer?

There is just enough room in front of the center engine mount bracket for a short strainer. Access is very tight so you are going to want one that has the center handle to unscrew and remove the top. The ones with allen bolts or wing nuts around the perimeter are very cantankerous. You'll be glad you spent the extra money to get the nice ones.

http://i448.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/IMG_0744.jpg

These are in Dock Holiday's boat. They had some manufacturing issues with them but this is the correct configuration. A right and left version with a U configuration for the outlet and inlet. The top of the center stringer of the 30 fiberglass liner has an area that is a couple inches tall that is near vertical. Use some heavy #14 lags, predrill and thoroughly seal the threads. There is some wood backing and thick fiberglass in that area. It will hold no problem. You'll have to play with the seacock and fittings configuration to get the hoses neatly around the engine mount bracket and the engine cradle but it can be done. Seastrainers are required on the 600s and we put some in the 30s. I had pictures but they are now on SR or Faja's server.

I have looked through all my "stuff" to no avail. I remember holding onto the computer print out with the vender name, part number, cost, etc. for the mirror material when I was cleaning off my desk on the last days. I must not have kept it. The good news is that I do have some small scrap pieces. I can send you a small piece and you can see what you can find out in your area. PM me over your address and I'll mail out a piece.

It is a flexible sort of plex material with a mirror coating on the back side. It can only be used on flat surfaces, otherwise it looks like a fun house mirror. It is difficult to cut as well. I used a vertical band saw with a very fine TPI blade. I used a couple layers of masking tape on both sides to straddle the cut. Afterwards the edges can be smoothed and blended with a fine grit DA sander. The results are very pleasing as you saw in the photos.

I liked the boat but didnt like the theme as I am from a little farther north but dont like the block "M" either.

When I get back into town mid mar I will see what pics I have and post. Nothing fancy, all stock but still looks good.

brian41 02-26-2009 02:34 PM

"CANTANKEROUS".........WOTW2E I am just a high school graduate are you trying to confuse me ?

WOTW2E 02-26-2009 03:19 PM

If you have ever tried to use those perimeter style strainers where the perimeter bolts also hold the can to the bracket as well as the lid to the can, then you know what I mean. To get them back together, it takes one set of fingers to turn the screw, one set of fingers to try and line up the bracket, a foot, a knee and an elbow to fight the rubber inlet and outlet hose, a buddy with a 50" prybar pushing on the seacock and at LEAST one bodacious looking naked woman.

Yea cantankerous fits....

:ernaehrung004:

brian41 02-26-2009 04:02 PM

Bodacious naked women I understand but not a word.

XT-Innovator 02-26-2009 04:53 PM

Brian,

Have you sent me my Trailering cover yet? Also did you see in this post that we need some 32" Purple Baja logos, if you have them?

XT:cool:

brian41 02-26-2009 05:24 PM

Cover shipped this morning I sent it overnight AM... damn I can not believe what they charged your account.

No I missed the decal part I will take a look thanks.

I had a few calls this week about decals that I do not have and I told them to contact you on here. Would you just rather I give them your # in future. I shipped it ground.:ernaehrung004:

Without looking up cantankerous, I will give my definition according to the way you described those sea strainers.

Cantankerous = Royal f***ing pain in the @ss when its 90 degrees out and the engines have been running for a couple hours!

30 outlaw 2005 02-27-2009 03:38 PM

What would be involve in removing the deck rail? Do you just need to unscrew the take off or do you have to get under the head liner? Looking to possibly paint it in a fade configuration.

Rob

XT-Innovator 02-27-2009 04:27 PM

Rob,

To remove the whole rail including the vertical stanchions, you will need to remove the headliner to get to the bolts underneath.

You should be able to remove the allen head bolts on the top-side, but you will only get the flat rail itself. You will also break the powdercoat paint in those areas. How bad do you want to paint it?

XT:cool:

30 outlaw 2005 02-27-2009 07:58 PM

After reading that not really sure...

redbud35 02-28-2009 02:01 PM

Looking for the 1" tape that was used for the Baja swim platforms. Anybody have an idea?
