adding a thru hull for raw water?
on my dads new boat im going to be adding a raw water wash down pump. i will be adding it as my dad will use it to wash the boat. his dock has no water and there are trees over it so he will use it to wash the boat mainly.
heres my question. i need to add a thru hull, but i hate to mess with the bottom of the boat so i was thinking about this. what if i went threw the transom? that should be ok right? it doesnt matter if it picks up water under power he uses it at the dock only. good idea or should i just go threw the bottom? |
Is there electric/power to the dock ?

I prefer the transom. I pulled the factory through hull A/C and put it in the transom of the 36.

there is one outlet about 100 feet from his slip. its at a condo, its not a marina.
dock, sounds good. i was a little unsure on it as the transom takes a beating, but i thought it was a good idea |

Also I would get it as low as possible so it does not pick up any floating debris. Good luck |
thanks for the tips. once we get the boat here i will see if i have the room to work on it, and see if i can make the seacock acsessable. if i can, thats what im going to do
