AT THE MINIMUM you need to add single ram add-on steering as suggested above. With that much power that hull will be riding way out of the water and you will need to have control that has no slack in it.

See pic for what 76 mph looks like !!!

Nice Picture, looks like your riding on about 2 inches of rear hull.. ! guess I will be riding the edge of what that hull was designed for.

between 585 hp and 650hp with out a shortie you will see 76 to 77 with a 26 b1 or a 27mg, I just sold my 2'' shortie polished for 1500 in the box to a happy donzi owner, still have a new single ram steering add on for 1300. those steering rams suck my buddy has them on his superboat with 575hp and he starts chinewalks at 73 to 74. I also have a 26 labbed b1 prop that got me to 83.2 gps at 6000rpm. I have pics of my boat k planes aren't touching the water, so I put 380s on:ernaehrung004: pm me if you want it. plus I have a hd gimbal transom with rebuilt trim rams or brand new in the box. shortie makes the boat fly level too. much better my new konrad is the shortie x factor will set it up to 3'' or 4 below the keel. running a 5 blade 30 px. going for over a 100 at 6400 rpm:evilb:

24ft baja

i had old 27ft baja with 625hp 540ci 26p 4-blade, run 76gps all day every day, 78 on good days. did not have external steering, but it definately needed it. i would guess you should get 80mph give or take a few. i would try a 28p lab finished. just my two cents!

this kinda spooks me. i should have around 500hp when i get it all back together. i have the standard merc steering. so the play in the steering makes it chine walk? how much danger am i in? what is the worst that can happen? i have a 24 outlaw. and i dont have tabs either. but by the looks of the pictures above when you get that far out of the water they arent even doing anything. what is this 1500 dollar kit you guys are talking about.

most boats chinewalk some slow some fast since I had play in my cable, when I made some test runs in 06 my hand was moving so much that afternoon to correct the chinewalk that my arm cramped up later that day. you need to go out and learn to counter steer your boat if its to hard just back off crack the throttle. with full steering it will slow way down, look at some boat racing tapes and you will see the driver arms going back and forth thats to keep the boat straight, like I said I have a add on new in the box you can add full later. call me 617 833 3327. and to get in the 80s 2'' shortie is worth it, mosthigh end boats with bravos have there prop shaft at 4 to 5'' below the keel, baja had theres 7 to 7 1/2'':eek:thats to deep worked great for 300hp motors but when your in the rough the boat wants to go up instead of level. my boat flew level off the few wakes I jumped while testing. theres a couple of 25ols with the 3'' box which helped them hit 80 with 525hp and at stock drive heights bravo 4 blades aren't the answer a mirage plus or a rev4 mod by bblades is better
