Got my Dyno #s!!!

I went last Wed. to finally dyno tune my engine combo. My friend Eddie Young provided the tuning and advice. We pulled it to 5600rpm and got 843hp and 828tq @ 8psi! Not a bad # considering the ignition started cutting out and my injectors were maxed out @ 5000rpm. I'm out of money so other than the ignition fix I'm going to change the blower pulley and try to make the injectors live for a while.
This is on stock internals(515 C.I.) and cast iron GM heads. Thanks for the cam Bob!

Those are great numbers!

Keep us posted on how she does in the boat.

Good luck and ENJOY

I've got a set of 60 lb short body injectors that should plug right in. Let them go for $275.00 + shipping. They have less than 10 hrs on them.

Great numbers for sure esp on them CI's

nice I can't wait to get mine back on track:ernaehrung004:, since I spent glass money on konrad:evilb::ernaehrung004:, whats two more or three months:eek:

baja27 04-16-2009 08:51 AM

Those are some great numbers, what spark plugs did you guys use?

articfriends 04-17-2009 12:50 AM

Smitty,I'll take them injectors if Kennyo doesn't want them assuming they asre high impedance,I have several projects started that could use them, the "other" Smitty

articfriends 04-17-2009 12:53 AM

Kennyo, are you still going to run the stern jack? I can't wait to see were you end up for top speed when it's all said and done. I might have a few props for you to try if you need them,Smitty

kennyo 04-19-2009 11:40 AM

I do still run the stern jack. I was a little disappointed with my speed this weekend. 86mph@5600. I'm running a 30p bravo one now so hopefully I can prop up some and gain some speed. I was really wanting in the 90's. I've got way to many Nordic Heats beating on my ass down here!

Smitty 04-19-2009 04:29 PM

Fenderjack

60 lb injectors will flow enough to make 1000 hp. As long as all the other parts can get there. He has iron heads and that stock intake doesn't really flow that well. He is makin' some great numbers with what he has.

Remember mine ran 89.5 at 5900-6000 w/945 hp 3/4 tank,4 big dudes and cooler w/labbed 30 no box/stern jack, ran 92.8 with that motor running light w 1/4 tk gas and 2 passengers. When I would try to run the labbed 32 loaded down I only turned about 5600/88-89 mph and it had a hard time gettiing there in comparison to the 30. I added the stellings box and could hardly get it over 86-87 no matter what I tried. Anxious to hear your final tweaked numbers, maybe at a certain point the stern jack might somehow hurt your top end but I doubt it,Smitty
I can send you my labbed 32 or std 32 to try if you need, give me a call if you need to

Hell, I guess I just need to be happy where I'm at. Sure did want one of those 90MPH shirts though!

ZXXX Donzi 04-21-2009 02:16 PM

Congrads on the numbers Kenny. You should be pumped. That's pretty impressive

Dial that Biotch in. It's kind of lonely here at the 90+ club in Center Hill.

All fun and games until one or those big Hustlers comes sneaking up.

kennyo 04-21-2009 02:42 PM

I'm gonna try a labbed 32. After I figure out my prop I'm going to try a shorty. If I could bust 90 I would cruise on my bragging rights then!.

Smitty, did you ever try a shorty by itself??

jima97 04-21-2009 04:07 PM

You'll never catch the Nordics Kenny. We're bringing a couple new ones up from Atlanta this year!:ernaehrung004:

I bought a shortie last summer and put internals I had in it,the final results were boat would run about 95-96 with it (vs 99) and would almost throw you out of the boat/flip over if you trimmed it much like boat normally likes and lost bite and has problems carrying the bow. It also made boat hard to drive in general and cavitates ALOT at part throttle and when taking off. I have it back off the boat right now as I put a std length lower back on for my fla trip a few weeks ago but I am going to try it again this summer with maybe a 5 blade prop although the last 5 blade prop I tried destroyed my lower after 10 passes at the 950 hp mark,I'm currently running 1057 hp set-up and am reluctant to try to turn a prop that bites better. I also tried a 1" spacer and it still sucked,I'm in set-up hell again. I need to find a virgin merc factory labbed 30 rh that has never been modified as mine has never been the same after damaging it and getting it repaired and tweaked,Smitty

I'm not saying you won't break 90 mph as you were getting pretty good speed out of your boat before without a super ton of hp, your stern jack has to be part of the magic formula for your old top speed, maybe once you get everything perfect everything will work out for you,Smitty

AIR TIME 04-22-2009 07:24 PM

man I wonder if you have hull troubles, besides me getting good handling and higher speeds83 with 650hp 12% slip with a 2'' shortie and the other guys one a 24 ol and the other a 25ol running 1'' shorties and the 3'' raised box seeing 87 with only trying two props 25ol has 600 merc 87. and the other was in the 90s. me I just bought a konrad ace set up to go with the DEAN GELLNER MOSTER, put smitty have you checked the bottom? theres only 1 foot of hull from me to you. but the 24ol and 25ol have a pad bottom are yours vee. sorry to here your still not getting the handling. mine does chinewalk but the full helm is going on this yr. but I had chinewalk with both stock and mod drive heights a ton my arm would lock up after woulds but the boat went straight:evilb:

articfriends 04-25-2009 04:45 AM

Art,my boat also has a pad and the hull has about 1/16 inch of hook but that part of the hull isn't really touching the water at high speeds.I think its a balance issue,I need to sling my boat and see where the front to rear balance point is,it actually runs the most stable and fastest with a couple people in the back seat, having over 1000 ft lbs of tq really does some strange things when it comes to keeping rear planted and boat from torque rolling,Smitty

did you ever try a left hand prop?? mine would roll if I backed way off to fast and then hit it.
