Has anyone used steering dampers in this type of application.
Do they work or still unsafe with them on..

I have heard different things about them.. some say they work great.. others say they are crap..
Should I spend the extra grand on steering assist single ram...

I know there was another post about something similar but only one reply about the rams...

extra grand I have a new single ram in the box for 1300 it was 1799. its with my drives in the swap. you can get the helm for 1100 more from a shop I know. but the assist would be fine for starters. pm me

Thanks........

I may have a twin used for 1500 its pending right now with the other parts.

for $1300 you can get add on steering and later make full, with the 600hp ,stock drive height a rev4 by bladdes labbed 25 I think is the biggest or a mirage plus 27 might be the ticket, my 26b1 4blade didn't run its best until I put the 2""shortie on the drive. but bret has a prop swap so you can try the rev 4 then a 27m then a 26b1 and buy which one works best. for speed real gps 76 to 77. thats what my boat ran with 600 to 650hp between upgrades and 83.2gps ran out of prop at 5900 to 6000rpm with carb and shortie would of got more with a 28 slip # were good at 12%.

what size and year outlaw were you running Airtime.. just want to compare 600hp in my 96 24 ol with what you were running ..

24 footer 26 with teak swimplatform:rolleyes:, no sp anymore so 24.
hey it started out as a 88 240 sport but in 95 I stuffed it bad blew the windshield and part of frame overboard, so insurance payed for baja fiberglass fairing ,in 96 mrv8outboard and myself built a one off custom engine hatch with pro stock scoop. in 99 I had under the deck rebalsa cord cause baja never sealed around the hatches or rails on decks of the boats so it moved in rough water so thats fixed and made stronger in 02 blew the bolsters a part racing in apba so new stainless steel stands and custom in out bolsters. thats some of the work that was done so its a real outlaw and will weight about 400lbs less even with the konrad and it. going to rip the floors out and agdd full bulkheads stronger mats and resins so she will be better than a new ol. even with regmister building them:evilb:.there is a small chance I might get a new hull before I see a banana 28 blank hull around, so instead of dumping 5 gs into mine I might try and grab that if its around. but if I PUT MY TOGETHER IT WILL GET PAINT TOO $$$ something with red silver yellow and maybe black having to do with pirates skulls deck of cards.then will fall in love all over again:ernaehrung004: keep it until it kills me at a 115 thats my goal 115 I think would make it the fastest baja 24 outlaw. I think a ol24 did 109 or 113 5 yrs ago I talked to the owner. weight on mine in 88 was 4000lbs, now will be 3400 to 3600 with blower motor and konrad and if I GET BACK TO 190LB INSTEAD OF 207 TO 212 HAAHA

LIKE I SAID BEFORE THE DRIVE HEIGHTS IN THESE BOATS ARE THE SAME FROM 1987 TO 1997 to phucking deep. boats shoot to the moon when you come off waves instead of flying level which mine does now. I wished a baja guy would of bought my shortie instead of a donzi guy:p:p l2 weeks ago. the best way to go is a 3'' raised imco box that will give you better handling, then when you have more money go to a 1'' shortie ,that will put you 4'' under the boat so a 4 blade can still be used but a 5 blade will be better. my new height will be about 3 1/2 to 4. hoping to hear from our friend over sea's to see how the 600hp merc and 4'' is working last I heard he was at 87gps, but he was at 81 with the 3'' box and 525 merc. so see height is the secret.
