90 Baja 24 Sport

I just bought a 90 24 sport from NJ, I live in FLorida. I had a friend handle all of the paperwork since he lived close to the boat in NJ. I got stopped yesterday for a boat safety check and discovered the HIN was not on the transon! I realize I should have checked this before I bought it, but I did not. According to the sheriff there is a second HIN hidden somewhere on the boat? Does anyone know where this is located? I dont doubt the credibility of the man I bought it from but I have to have it verified by the sheriff here or the boat will get confiscated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave,

I sent you a PM where to look, but I will not post the answer. Anyone else that knows this information should send PM's also. Not saying there are any bad guys reading OSO, but you never know?

PM me where to look on mine, mine is still on the transom but haven't come across the alternate location yet.

Found It !

After speaking to both Lane and Dave @ XT I still was not able to locate the second HIN. Out of frustration, thinking that they may have put body filler over it when the boat was painted, I stabbed the area on the transom with a screwdriver and it cracked slightly. After poking it with the tip of a knife a piece of foli tape peeled off! They must have covered it to paint it and never removed tape. It sat covered for the last 4 years! I appreciate all of the help from XT!
Thanks,
Dave
