Name that Baja!

my buddy just got on trade for a mustang gt, a 1981 baja closed bow jetboat. it has a berkley pump and a 460 ford in it. it is sparkly blue and in ok shape. the only problem is that someone set a truck engine in it with egr and all the vaccum crap on it. but it is in one solid peice. the USCG plate says it is 20 feet. its a neat looking ride. did they have a name? and i will post pictures soon. need some help figuring how the water gets to it. i know the jet pump feeds the engine. just dont know where it hooks first. and also want to know what style of ignition they are supposed to have? anyways its neat mabye someone has some brocure pictures of this rig they can post also.

Sounds like a cool boat.

SocalStone will have all your answers. I ran a 460 and berkley back in the 70's ut did not have to do any wrenching on it and I cannot remember much except how to cut a ski rope out of the pump.

Good luck

The 1981 200 SS had the more rounded style deck on it, and I think the deck was retooled in 1982 or 83' with a new look on the same hull design.

LOL!!@hacker, good point, although unlike todays Eye candy at least back then there was more plastic in the boat than there was in the model!
