272 w/ shortened drive
 

Anyone tried a shortened gearcase on a 272? If so how short and what happened. I was looking at the boat and it seems to be a very conservative X dimention,,,,, I just don't want to be the guiny pig !!!!:D :rolleyes:

We tryed a Imco 2" shorten lower unit on our race boat, and we took it off 30 mins. later. The boat is a 27' Baja Boss. The proplem we had was that we lost to much bow lift and 3 MPH, but the over all handling with the shorten drive was great.

If you know someone that will let try before you buy. they I would go gor it, because you neaver know about these things.
