Islander a good boat?

Wondered if anyone has an opinion as to an Islander vs. Hammer etc. in the 22-25 foot range. I am looking for a boat this size and prefer an open bow, but I am not sure if the Islander is as well as made as other. Any and all feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We had a 212 islander for 3 yrs good boat never any problems. 97 454 310 hp.
I would make sure u get standup bolsters. Much better than the sit down IMO

My cousin just sold a 25 ft Islander, had it for 3 years. It was a good solid boat, but lives at the Ozarks and bought a 29 Outlaw for a little better ride.

We had the same boat except a 99 model. Great boat but they did not offer stand up bolsters. I was always sitting on the top of the back of the seat.

You will find that the Islander series in the 272 and smaller are easier to sell because they appeal to a broader range of buyers.

Great boats

Same here always sitting on seat back.
What I meant to say was move up to the 23 or larger to get the bolsters.

I have a 21 foot Islander with 570 HP. It is a blast at 80 MPH. The only thing I wish is it was 2 feet longer for the rough water we have here.

Only 2 feet!

That's fast! My 212 at just over 60 MPH felt like it was flying.

As long as I have been on the boards I think you have set the record that I know of for the fastest 21 Islander.
