hour meters
Does anyone know where the power for the hourmeters is taken from? I have one that isn't getting power.

It comes off an ignition wire... when the key is on, you can hear it counting. So any hot ignition lead will do the trick, just have to get a multimeter out and start testing.
But you are probably looking for the exact location/wire and the only advice I would have is to back track from the HOBBS meter. |
I'm trying to keep from having to dig it out of the wire bundles.
I thought maybe on of the guys that MADE Bajas at the factory might know where it is pulled off. |
Gotcha ;)

You ex-Baja guys are slackin':lolhit:
I finally had a chance to take a look, and the feed for the hourmeters comes off of the back of the oil pressure guages. |
So does that mean your HOBBS meter(s) run off the engine's oil pressure or whenever there is 12V available?
Glad you figured it out. |
I would assume so.

So you just run a hot lead off the oil pressure sending unit and then ground off the block?
