Bad vs. Good Interior Job

5 Attachment(s)
I wanted to post some photos of a interior job that a customer said I could show everyone what a bad job looks like from someone that did not have the ability to do the job that they promised on his 1996 - 24 Outlaw after someone distroyed it to steal the stereo, and speakers.

He originally quoted the job with us, but his insurance company wanted him to use another local interior "specialist" that qouted a little less.......Now he is in court trying to recoop his money from the down payment.

The guy even had the nerve to tell him that after the boat sets in the sun a little, everything would be fine!

Here are some photos of a 96' - 272, and a 96' - 302 that we had done for comparison.

Here are some photos of his old interior before the guy re-done everything.

The one thing the guy said that I agree with, is that all the interior needed to be redone so that everything matches vinyl texture, and color. The owner now claims that his boat interior is WORSE than it was.

Do you know where I can get the plastic side piece on the bolster? Mine cracked where that rubber bumper screws through on drivers bolster.

Here is a 1994 Baja "Shooter" that was delivered to us in pieces that another interior specialist had given-up on, and the customer had to track down all the parts to rebuild.

Oh.....and did I mention the custom "Shooter" motorlid? This was just too cool!

You know that you have done a good job, when the customer pays you more than you charged them. That has happened to us more than a few times now.

Id give $500 just to have been there to see the customers reaction when he went to pick the boat up looking like that! Unbelievable!

I think the mask Leatherface wore in Texas Chainsaw Massacre was sewn better!

That is truly embarrasing work. How could anyone even present that work and expect to get paid?

That might just be the worst marine interior job I have ever seen.

Agreed, but I don't know how the other company can even be in business when they present work like that.

some people dont care. its that simple. the ones that do work like that are the once doing great!! and putting the guys that do a much better job but cost more out of bussnes.
im running into it now, all the hack job one man bands come in, bid the job for a little less then me (who has been around 35 years with a great backround etc) they get the job, get paid, do a hack job, i get to go in and get the scraps after to fix there hack job and miss the meet of the real job.
it sucks, but its what we get to deal with.
he should call the BBB and make a complaint. more people should use that line, it would save allot of people, and help the good people out

This is just my opinion but I personally think a good interior is better than a bad interior. I'm not sure how Blake feels about that.:lolhit:
