Fair Price for a 33'

I am currently looking at a 1998 33' Outlaw SST with Twin 502's. Boat only has 150 fresh water hours and is sitting on an eagle trailer that appears very nice. Lower hours but I have a feeling it has been partied on as it is in need of appolstry work on the engine hatch, OK doesnt NEED it but it wouldnt hurt.

Thanks

Irishtornado 07-06-2009 09:40 AM

Well XT can hook you up on the engine hatch recover, but in this market I'd have to say it isn't worth a whole lot compared to 2yrs ago...I don't have a solid #, but NADA is pretty close to current market pricing..All depends on how much you want to pay for it.

I'd seriously look at having a survey done to check for rot in stringers and transom on a 11yr old boat. Save yourself ALOT of headaches for 300.00

I just spoke with the broker and he said they had the engine hatch redone.

The boat was purchased new in 2002 but do plan on having a survey done.

Anyone from Havasu here?

Nichols92 07-06-2009 10:17 AM

I went to NADA and came up with this: http://www.nadaguides.com/default.as...B&gc=MR&gtc=MR ... average retail is $45,??? and low retail is $39,??? so with the way the economy wouldnt $38,000 be reasonable? I know it seems low when compaired to other boats for sale but ??? thats NADA. I suppose that doesnt include a trailer though.

I spoke with my bank and they said that they will only give out about half of what NADA is sometimes less than that

Anyone know the owner of a 33' Outlaw in Havasu, boat is named "Good N Plenty"

33 Outlaws are selling in the 55-80K range, depending on a range of factors, HP, condition, trailer, options, hours, colors, area of the country. The 33 OL and 25 OL seem to be holding their value better than other models, ( I won't comment why) You can always offer less, but don't be surprised if they hang up on you.:evilb::party-smiley-004:

This 36 could be a good deal. Appears to have low hrs

i would like to no why the others are not holding their value because i am looking at a 99 29 outlaw thanks. it is either that or a 288 sunsation but i am leaning towards twin motors.

I've never seen a 33 OL at Havasu. Does the guy live in town? Who is the broker? I may be able to look at it for you or have someone go look at it.

eddie 07-07-2009 09:28 PM

I know a guy that just paid $50k for a 1998 with 454 Mags on a trailer. If you can get it for $38k I'd consider that a very good deal.

bajarick 07-08-2009 06:34 AM

theres a 03 33 sst on oso classified,
turn key boat. add 30.

Nichols92 07-08-2009 11:46 AM

OK, I think we made a deal in the mid 40's. I will keep you all posted... excited to be a Baja owner :drink:

bigshooter 07-08-2009 03:22 PM

you will love the ride this boat will give, I just bought a 99 33 outlaw and love it.

BAJA WILL 07-08-2009 04:09 PM

If you picked up a 33 turn key in vg shape for in the 40's you just got a hell of a deal, you and Smurfonagxxr have got the best deals I have ever seen.:evilb:

Irishtornado 07-08-2009 09:31 PM

The market sucks right now people wanting to sell will lower they're price. Mine only books out at 42k with HO's and all options. I wouldn't even think of selling for that money.

Buddy of mine just bought a 29OL on a trailer with HO's and SST for 50k 200hrs.

Demand isn't driving the market anymore as I believe you said in another post you were tired of starving

Not sure where he lives. Unfortunatly the deal is not going to go. The price went up and so did the to-do list. Boat needed a lot of work. Little things but a lot of little thing. Guy wouldnt budge on the price so we walked. I guess thats why its been for sale for a year

Do you have a price limit or just year and budget? I know of a couple 33OL's forsale for decent prices...I could point you in the right direction if they're in your price range..Both are located in MO.

That would be great but my budget is low for a 33OL. Under 50K would be great. Found a 36' that "needs work" for $45,000 not sure what that means though

BAJA WILL 07-10-2009 10:15 AM

36OL

Take a look at these, just know a 36OL is a great boat, but its a wave crusher and takes much more HP to go fast. The second one looks like a great deal, but on any repo boat plan on about 5-10K to be put into it, to make it turn key.

Both these boats are in excellent condition turn key boats.

This one I know nothing about, but it's the predecessor to the 33OL

OK, we made a deal again and would really appreciate any help on checking it out. I have called everyone in the Havasu area and nobody can do a survey for a few weeks. I live in MN so thats like the end of the boating season and I really dont want to wait. Is anyone available to go check it out and give me an honest opinion on the boat?

Also what do you think these parts will cost me
1) Liquid filled speedo (fluid drained out)
2)K plane indicator/sending unit (tab works but gauge does not)
3) cabin door sliders

Thanks

Nichols92 07-15-2009 11:26 AM

^^^ Anyone???

I am just guessing But here

Speedo = $430 for a new gps one or maybe they will refill fluid for $50??

K-plane indicator $200 I am guessing

Cabin doors? WHat is wrong? need new door made, that could be expensive?

jmeng 07-15-2009 02:58 PM

I've been told that you can get a replacement O ring for the speedo and refill with glycerine from the drug store....

JaayTeee 07-15-2009 05:09 PM

Get a gps speedo.....the one's ( gaffrig monster) that are
in them aren't that accurate after 60 mph anyway.

It probably has sticking indicator cables,
( my 29 did) I would guess the cables might
be $ 100 ea.

The fun part would be changing them though.

Cabin door tracks......call Dave Leonardt
XT innovators, he use to work at Baja and
probably know how to get what you need.
