Outlaw Swim Platform Questions....
The grip tape on my swim platform is coming off.
(sticks out of the boat house = hammered by the sun year round) Who built the swimplatforms for Baja? Hoping I can buy a kit from them to replace the tape I have now. Anyone know the brand of grip tape it is? or what the best is to replace with? any ideas would be mucho appreciated...... |
When I bought my swim ladder from www.windline.com they also sold the rubber inserts for the swim platform. I think they were in the range of 100 bucks for a set. Check it out. They claim to be factory issue for the Baja line. My ladder fit great so I can't doubt them.

It's 3M. Check West Marine. They may have some.

I got tired of the tape looking like crap, and curling up on the edges over time, so I put non-skid paint on there. Works like a charm, no peeling, no cracking, and much cheaper than the tape.

Mike when I had the swim platform powercoated last year I picked up the 3M tape from either WW Grainger or McMaster Carr. I know they both have it. Be careful I ordered the wrong stuff first and it was like sand paper.
It is VERY easy to cut and apply and it holds up well for a few years. If I remember right it was about $20.00 per roll and I think it takes just over one roll or at least it did on mine. Good luck |
Thanks you guys. this is all great info. OSO rocks.

I just ordered some tread tape for my platform and I ordered from Koffler sales (Kofflersales.com - 888-355-6287) they have so many different types. Call them and they will sent out samples of the different tapes. Super nice people and real cheap prices.

These people stock and ship it right out. Everyone either drop ships it or has to order it before they ship it.
Get the 300 series or like Dock said you won't have any skin on your knees. 1" x 60'-0 will do the platform. Cut it about 1/4" short on both ends and it won't roll up as easy. Take a wallpaper roller and roll it down really well after you stick it. http://www.floormat.com/anti-slip/safetywalk.html |
Thanks Jeff. I'm ordering the 300 series today.

OK, instead of the non-slip tape, my swim platform has the rubber inserts. Anyone got a lead on who might make these inserts? Mine seem to have shrunk over the years.

I am looking for the same rubber inserts, would prefer black, but might try white. How much?

Thanks Edd... I'll hook up with you soon. I have a body shop/paint shop here at the dealership that I can get some stuff done for hopefully next to nothing... Just wondering if XT or someone has the actual paint code of if peeps generally just find a color they like and have it shot that way...

My 35 Outlaw build sheet has Dove for the gray color of the graphics, platform is gray, having hell trying to match a spot, but hoping now that I found this thread one of the Gray's you list might be the one. I've ordered color cars from Tiger and a couple sample bottles of paint from Orbit in the two grays. |
