need new HORN for 252
 

I have a 98 Baja 252 and the horn quit working. I'm assuming it is the horn, not the switch or wiring. Anybody have any recommendations for a good loud horn, rather than the wimpy factory one. I'd like to get the same size horn as the old one so it will drop right in. Where to buy and any tips on installation would be great. Thanks.

I guess that you can blame me for selecting the wimpy factory horn on your boat. They are a mechanical horn, so if they set awhile w/o being used sometimes they lock-up. There are many newer style horns now that are electric "buzzers" that are louder, but in my opinion they sound terrible. (like the death penalty in a electric chair) The other option is to upgrade to a "Air Horn" style, but there may not be enough room in the current location. I have a 1998 232 Baja Islander. The horn used to make a very low sound. Like a squeek. Now it does not work at all. I have no clue on how to fix it or what to look for. How would I replace it if I needed a new one. Also what type of horn would replace the one I have.
