baja with water in bow

why the hell does my 1993 baja outlaw have water in only the front locker portion of the bow? It has a ski locker style opening and does not drain into the hull... I just am tired of sucking the water out with a shop vac and want to find the source.

I have had a problem in the past with water coming in thru the bow light. Not an outlaw but probably the same light.
Good luck!!

Could be the horn also.

My 36 had the same problem. It was coming in at the hull/deck joint in front. I found it by putting a sprinkler on the deck and letting it "rain" on it. I got inside the nose and totally caulked the crap out of the joint--problem solved.

If you have a retractable cleat on the front, there should be a scupper with a drain attached on the inside of the deck. I've seen the hose come off and the cleat scupper drain water into the nose.

i will take a look at everything. Looks like i have a soft stringer now too. This boat is getting me very frustrated. I wish there was a little more quality behind its construction.

I wouldn't think it is necessarily poor construction by Baja. After all, the boat is 16 yrs. old. These types of things can happen with any brand of boat. Just look atsome of the older Cigarette models that have had soft transoms. (Not knocking Cigs in any way here)

Check the drain holes that are in the bulkheads, make sure their clear, sometimes they get pluged or they wern't drilled out from the factory. Mine was not drilled out and had the same problem, punched out the holes and all was good. Hope this helps, Carey
