LOTO Shootout Question.
Just doing some thinking and not sure if I truly will do it yet but...
If one has a 272 Baja what class is it in and what kind of MPH do you need to run to win or be competitive? Have looked at the Shootout site but not sure how to figure out class and what won it. I couldn't leave the Harley stock so why not do something to the boat. |
You would be in the non-professional, single engine, non-power added class.
Probably NV1F1 class. 72mph won that class. That will be a tough class to win I think. |
If the engine is stock it would be NV2S1
( even though a 272 is only a 25' boat, they go by overall length, so it gets classed as a 27' boat) N ='s non professional driver. V='s V hull, C catamaran, P pontoon 2='s boat size 27'-31' (in this instance) S='s stock engines ( mercury "black" engines) F='s Mercury factory HP engines ( HP500-525's, they put 525Sc's in there too) M='s Modified normally aspirated engines P='s Power adder, supercharger, turbocharger nitrous ( mercury supercharged engines 575 and above are included here) 1='s number of engines I didn't see anyone running in this class last year, so a mere $ 25 would net you a nice plaque:drink: |

Q--If I were to enter the shootout, would I run against you ?? Or would I run against 38 Top gun or 38 Fountains ?? I have a 36 Outlaw with power adders Thanks, Smitty |

And, it makes those guys that beat me able to say they beat somebody:rolleyes: I love doing it.... and you don't have to deal with all the raft up b.s., at least til after things have settled down. I've collected a few of those plaques, and I can say that the fun is in just doing it and being part of it, the outcome is second place. Besides, while your waiting at the awards ceremony, everyone else has left for the bar:drink: What does suck is when you break:eek: |
i would like to see a step/non-step class for vhulls.
