272/302 windscreen... where to find one?

Anyone know where I can locate a windscreen for a 272/302?

I'd ask Mike see if he'll trade you for the one off his boat. If not I wish you good luck finding one Scott. I looked for 2yrs and then lucked out and found 2. Spartech is now defunct unless someone picks up they're line so I couldn't even let you use the one I have in a crate for a mold. I'll keep my eyes open.

There is one on Great Lakes Skipper for a 275, but XT would have to let you know if it would fit a 272 or not.

The fit on the front section would be a little loose, or large to fit tight, but you could fill the void on the inside with a foam tape, or something? The side wings will be around 8" short, and the bottom contour will be too flat. (not enough belly) The side wings are made with just (flat) plex. so you could make wings to fit if you can get matching material?

They also have one for a 278? Any better of a fit?

Both models used the same Windshield, but the wings on the 275 (windscreen) used "brackets" that are not needed? Front sections should be the same.

So the only direct fit for a 272 would be one from a 302?

Irishtornado 12-28-2009 03:42 PM

Scott if the front sections are the same pull the pin on the one on GLS site. I can get you the sides made. Just make sure it has the 2 brackets that attach the sides to the front. You'll also now need a new cover..

Get this! The 272, 302, and 38 Special all used the same windshield, but the windscreens were all just slightly different from each other. You could never get the narrower 302 on the 38, but the other way around, would be just a little loose. The 272 was inbetween.

Scott if you can find someone that can make you one from a pattern I'll pull mine off my boat so they can make one for you.
