Sticky Tape on Swim Platform

Well I got my Swim Platform back from the PC guy and now I need some of the gray tape to put back on it. Anyone know where to get and what I should ask for? Thanks in advance

Will

I remember a post a long time ago and Brian41 had some.

I had grey on mine, but when I had it redone, I switched to black tape. Looks much nicer against the red.

I bought a roll online. I can't remember where right now, but it was like 40.00 shipped. You can buy the grey 3-M tape at any hardware store by the foot.

Some of mo nonskid grey tape is curling on the ends. Is the a easy way to remove the exisiting completely and apply new.

I would be afaid of lifting any powder coat off the swim platform.
Thanks
Dennis

Bowtye--

Try soaking it first with wax and grease remover/bug and tar remover to loosen the old glue, then remove glue residue with alot of rags.

Will,
How much of a biatch was it to get the swim platform off? Any tips or pointers? I know that 5200 is some tough stuff. I need to get mine re-powdercoated.

Busta, I think you will find that they didnt use 5200 on it or at least I hope they didnt. Mine had either 4200 or White silicone in the holes. I had 3 or four through bolts on the top and 2 lag bolts on each down leg. Loosened them and off it came. Same with my 25 when I took it off. I took a few pics of mine but they didnt come out. I got a 3-4 color powder coat that is bad a$$. move the sun and the color changes. pics dont do it justice. You will need someone to help you as they are a little heavy.

I hate the tape and painted on anti-skid on top of the PC instead. Like it MUCH better than tape.

Sounds like Blake and TBM.....:lolhit:

Thanks for the info I will email them tomorrow.

If it's is yellow and made by 3M, then it is their trim adhesive. An automotive paint store should have it, or a NAPA store.

That's what I was thinking too. It's good stuff but I can imagine pretty messy trying to use it on the swim platform.
