Anyone ever hear of Blake Driving 4.5 hours to help a friend put his stereo in?

**** I all but called him an ******* and left and havent been banned yet. I must have any friends. I have never gone back since the day I left. I know who my friends are and where they are and what their #'s are and well you all get the idea. I guess you guys will have to let me know if I have my name written on the chalk board too. Ive got wayyy to much other **** to worry about like how to properly run a fuggin business and keep clients happy.

I suspect most Baja owners either don't care about these personal feuds or they're smart enough not to get involved. Since I'm not the latter I'll play along...

I don't know Blake personally, never met him, never talked to him on the phone and never even traded emails that I can think of other than to tell him what size and color shirt I wanted at renewal time. Like many people I haven't always agreed with the way he conducted himself or his actions. He isn't the reason I'm active on TBM; the information, camraderie and the general character of most of the members are the reasons I'm there and will continue to be active there unless/until I'm asked to leave or the site goes away. I do believe that some (but not all) deserved their bannings for what they posted. Seriously guys, you can't call someone an ******* without expecting him to get upset about it. For the ones that didn't let themselves get brought down to that level, I don't know why you were banned, wasn't consulted, and really don't care to get involved in personal feuds anyway. I've made that mistake before....won't do it again.

Even though I haven't always agreed with him, he's been right about some things and some people when most of those around him felt he was wrong. He also had the foresight to use the Baja name in his website, and somehow managed to facilitate a fairly strong community of like minded individuals. Probably most (if not all) of us here have met people through TBM that have enriched our lives. That's a good thing in my book. Those things I respect, so if the rules are that it's his sandbox, his rules, I'm okay with that as it's a sandbox I'd like to play in. Again, it's the people there that make me feel this way. It's his call how he conducts himself, not mine, and I don't feel qualified to pass judgement in public anyway....have my own problems to worry about.

What I have difficulty understanding and accepting is why so many feel the need for personal feuding, public bashing, name calling, etc. Who is at fault doesn't so much matter as there's plenty of blame to go around.....both in this case and in some of the other feuds (the Blake/Mark feud comes to mind). At some point in time, sooner rather than later, the right thing to do (IMO of course) is for both of the parties involved to simply let it go and get back to boating. Like Keith, boating is a much needed and appreciated diversion from the day to day grind and I'd prefer it to be a positive experience....both on the water, and on the online forums.

This sort of thing doesn't seem to be limited to boating forums either; my wife is active in several dog forums and she tells me the same things go on there. No matter how the forums are moderated, and no matter whether they're in the US or overseas, people seem to feud.....so we're not alone in this particular problem and I honestly have no idea what the solution is. The rampant bashing and feuding on OSO is the main reason I didn't renew my paid membership here a few years ago. Perhaps it's so rampant simply because it's a large forum....I don't know. I see more of it than I'd like on TBM. I don't see it as much on the regional forums (MWBP being the one I frequent), but I suspect that's because of a combination of things; many of the forum members boat together and wouldn't dream of acting that way towards each other, and the mods don't allow it. I wish that was the case elsewhere, but it isn't.

Why do I see it as a problem? First of all, we've got much bigger enemies in this world than each other. Government regulators, the financial woes of the marine industry and snake oil salesmen/crooks are a few that come to mind. Again, just my opinion here, but we'd all be much better off if disagreements were handled in private, at the end of the day we agreed to disagree if necessary, and we presented a unified front to the rest of the world. To fail to do so, to take sides and split the group over disagreements just makes us all weaker in the face of the REAL adversities we face. It also doesn't speak well for the group as a whole when we can't seem to get along and/or conduct ourselves appropriately....a guilty by association deal for those who are smart enough to keep their yaps shut.

I suppose I look at things differently than some of the forum regulars as I've been boating waaaaay longer than I've been on internet forums. Started boating with my dad in '66, bought my first boat in '80 (30 years this month), and over the years I've tended to look at ALL boaters as my friends. Us against them and us against the seas, versus us against us. That's just my way and I make no apologies for it. I also don't wish bad upon anyone, especially when they share my particular hobby, and it also concerns me when I see that happening with my fellow boaters. Again, there's plenty of blame to go around as we've seen all too often (including this particular thread). I don't care who started it, I just wish it would stop. Fat chance, I know, but a guy can dream can't he?

I agree it is a shame. But here is my issue. It is his sandbox whatever. But when many people my self included posted nothing wrong in his place, haven't even said anything about him. And he uses this as a violation of the TOS he has is blatantly wrong. It essentially comes down to shutting off paid service for no reason. I did not say anything on TBM. Blake is an arrogant prick as far as I see it. I was fine with staying out of it, but when people are getting booted for doing nothing more than what Blake has said he is ok with, voicing your opinion. Then it is no longer a site I will put my name with. To me boating is about freedom, escaping the everyday life. I enjoy these forums as it is a place to escape from the day ,when I cant be on the water and to learn new information about the sport I love so much. When I have to worry about some PMSing Web admin getting pissed because I posted on some other site, well at that point it is no longer a free site, and is much in opposition to my whole idea of boating.

There is such a thing as protecting your interest, this has gone far beyond that and has turned into a small minded webmaster being overly thin skinned. As teh webmaster Blake needs to grow the f*ck up.

And further more, I don't care what personal feud you have with someone, airing delight in someone elses problems is also something I do not believe is a good moral character.

All we ever wanted was a few answers.... if he has the balls to "throw his weight around" then he should have the courage to stand up for what he believes in instead of giving eveyone the "all mighty" run around and just "deleating" the problem with hopes it will go away. Don't just go changing peoples information "because you feel like it" and not expect someone to notice and ask the simple question(s) of "why"? Don't go gloating over someone elses misfortune and try and capitolize on it by running their name further in the ground without someone asking "why". If you are as "strong" as you say you are...and as good of a "business man" as you say you are...then you should be able to defend your actions....not run from them.

If you cannot answer simple questions....don't make bold statements, then hide behind the truth. Don't ban people for being associated with other groups for fear of what the outcome will be. We are all a strong group of individuals... As my dad always told me..... "Don't bull**** a bull****ter"...and Blake...you are a bull****ter.

We'll see Ed. I just posted my opinions in the matter, didn't bash anyone and won't bash anyone. In my little pea brain that's crossing a line I don't wish to cross. Life is much too short for that. Whatever happens, happens. It's been a good ride for me on TBM and I hope to stay there, but of course that isn't my call.

I think we all wished at one point to stay there ray, but blake has issues and is not a "people" person, thats why he has no supporters and continually drives members away.

This same crAAp happened to me last summer when I was trying to get help with a MAJOR issue. I post a question on TBM after Dock suggested it here and wouldn't you know it is was removed within seconds! Even posted it twice and both times it was gone.... but if it wasn't for Ray responding to the second thread it too would have probably never reappeared. I know damn well he was removing it! The reason... Dock, a friend of mine suggested the idea.

A lot of members of OSO came forward to HELP once I posted the question!!! And I am forever thankful! But that very same question turned into the "I am king" bull**** and "if you don't like it you can give me the moeny and run the forum the way you want". Well I knew where this was going and I asked to have my membership removed and bid a farewell!! Then the entire thread was deleted so no one knew that I had asked to be removed.... everyone thought he kicked me out. This was a bigger blow to his ego I my opinion, why give him the satisfaction of kicking me out.

Then get this.... he sent me a friend request on Facebook, not once but twice. Either he never took the time to read the names of the people sending his site money or he has a massive case of short term memory loss.

Eitherway... what's done is done! Such a wonderful Baja source of information that forum could be.... but until it is sold sadly it will never reach its true potential.

Ray I've never met you either and at one point did want to meet you, but I recall when the whole Darrell/PBP deal was going on you gave Fleg your username and password then threw him under the bus when it all came crashing down. This IMO wasn't cool and one thing I've learned in life is you backup your friends when a person tosses them to the wolves. That is my only beef with you. I don't care if you think I'm one of the people you think deserved to be banned. Yea I made a bad decision to back Darrell we all did, but the only thing that got me banned back then was because I was looking for a bigger source for the run that was being put on in St.Clair. Blake had a pissing match with me because it didn't have TBM in the title of the thread on a forum I had no control over and banned me and desolved the MICHIGAN CHAPTER because I was the SPONSOR of it...Because I know you didn't know the whole story of that you thought I was just creating problems it was Blake that created problems because again for a event he never did anything for didn't show up to yet wanted his website name on which by the way it was on. I get banned...Talk about a F'n ego!!!! So see I do have a little beef in this because for me it has nothing to do about a website or it's owner(well now it does) I support the people and yes the brand..I'm proud to own a Baja and personally think Blake is a blackeye on the brand. That's all true and was a mistake I almost immediately regretted. I assumed something I shouldn't have. My intent was not to throw Jeff under the bus, but that wasn't the way it was interpreted by some. If you (or anyone else) want to hold a grudge that's fine, but I manned up to my mistake, apologized, and moved on. That's about all I could do under the circumstances; can't change the past.

I still don't agree with attacking someone in a public manner; not you, Blake, Darryl or anyone, and thought I was pretty clear on that during Darryl's public lynching. To me it's a gang mentality that feeds threads such as this one (and the eleventy zillion post threads that we saw on TBM a couple of years ago) and, like in my lengthy post earlier, I believe it has the potential to damage the whole Baja community. I understand many (most?) don't share that opinion but that's just my own personal set of beliefs. I certainly make mistakes from time to time but I try to learn from them and not make 'em twice....and notice I said TRY.

Dock Holiday has alot of friends and has SUPPORTED the brand better than Blake ever could.

just for everyones information if they still want to read teambaja all you have to do is google IP Proxys and these will change your IP address so you can still read the site. Unless you get a very good IP proxy you wont be able to make a name and post but atleast you can still read up on the bull**** occuring on the site

That's where you and I should just agree to disagree Dave. The bashing, the name calling....to anyone who wasn't following along from the very beginning, that just shows dissention in the ranks. Even if you were following along it can give the impression that some of us are just "fair weather friends". That isn't the kind of impression I'd like others to see, but again that's just my own opinion on the matter.

With a bunch of type A personalities like we have here, there's going to be a certain amount of disagreement....and that's fine. How we handle those disagreements says much more about our own personal integrity than who is right and who is wrong. There are always 3 sides to any story (one guy's side, the other guy's side, and the truth which is usually in the middle). I was planning to go away and just visit occasionally after my "SUPPORTER STATUS" expired, but he had to make a issue out of it and change my username because of who I associated with and what sites I was on...Oh and we can't forget that I started a webpage for people that liked the same things as I do because I was censored on what could be posted. Funny that site has been up for 3yrs and he had no problem til I became a supporter on OSO and not TBM...So IMO that is DICKTATORSHIP. Call it what you want, but as a Baja owner and with friends that own them I think he is a bad figurehead for the brand.

emilsr you might get " lucky " he might not ban you just to make the rest of us look bad i was only on TBM since August when i bought my boat and have only been on OSO since November i think i joined LSCR a couple of months ago because they were on other boards that i was and because those are people that i can actually meet and hang with on the water as they are so close to me only a couple of hours like a bunch of guys here until he started deleting my post i never had a problem with him i didnt think what he was doing was right especially since he always says he was running TBM as a business but personelly i think a large majority of his post were completelt out of line then when i got removed that made it personel i apid my money to be a supporter like everyone else and only got 7 months out of a year like i said he will never get another dime from me also i have 1 slightly used and 1 new TBM liscense plate frame for sale if any one wants them :party-smiley-004:

As you said there are a bunch of Type A personalities. As such none of us are afraid to voice our opinion. It is only Blake that chooses to block hearing other opinions and actually goes one step further in eliminating evidence thereof. I dont expect anyone to agree with anything I say, nor do I care if they do or not, won't change how I feel. I do expect someone who disagrees to at least have the common curtsy to hear my opinion, and not remove it because its against your own. Furthermore I also expect that I am aloud to post anywhere on the internet, and not just in one little place. I also do not think kissing someones ass should be required to be a member on a site. Blake seems to have this mentality that if you are on his site you must be his friend, and defend him even when time and time again, people tried to tell him we aren't interested in his petty feud.

It was Blake that continually couldn't leave it alone. It was Blake that banned several people for merely posting on here. There are many innocent people in this whole thing, unfortunately Blake has blocked any chance people have of defending themselves.

Honestly at this point I don't care. TBM has been on a downhill slide this year, with each of Blakes antics pushing it a little closer to obsolescence.

I called him out on it to saying that that is why his name was changed. I said it was cause Dave was talking and hanging with the, "wrong crowd", and he said that was not the reason. Then in his full page spread to Hoss, Matt, and Anchorman he came out and basically said it was just that.
