25' vs 27'

I am in the market for a used Baja and have been looking at many. The prices on 25's are close to the 27's (272, 275, 278 etc.) For those of you that have owned or ridden in both can you please tell me if it is worth having the 27 over the 25? I will be towing it a lot so that is a consideration for me. Is the room in the 27 a lot more? Better ride on the water? I thank you all in advance and appreciate your input.

I too had the same questions. They are basically the same boat, the difference is the 27 is a 27 because of the molded swim platform, the 25 is 25 plus a bolt on aluminum platform. The 25 Outlaw might ride a slight bit rougher due to hull difference. We have a 272 and love it, wife thought it had a slight edge in room and in cabin. Maybe just how we saw it. They are both great boats but in the end they are almost the same. Could be tempted to sell ours as we may the bug to move up a few feet.

I have spent a good amount of time on both the 25ol and the 272. The 25 is mine. They are both great boats. To me the 272 does feel a little bigger in the cockpit, I think it is a little wider. The cabins are basically the same size wize just a little different layout. I like the seat and shelf set up in the 25 better. Most of the 272's will have a windshield, the 25ol wont. I do like the tubular swim platform better on the Outlaws. I have seen several people slip and fall on the molded fiberglass swim platforms. My buddy that has the 272 says that the outlaw rides a little better in chop. I really could not tell a big difference though. Speeds are basically the same with similar power. Hope that helps!

I thank the both of you as that helps a lot.

Well I can tell you that both models will fit on the same trailer perfectly. Both hulls are so close that other factors will affect the performance/handling/speed more than the hull differences. The 275 hulls were all made from the same 272 molds also.

We have a 25 and a buddy has a 275 with a windshield... I did notice my hull has more V as the 275 gets sharp toward the nose.

both are VERY similar in the back so they ride about the same in the rough...

275 cockpit has a lil more room between the bolsters and the back and also noticed more engine noise than mine due to the exhaust under the fiberglass swim platform.

I, personally prefer the 25 b/c it looks sharp and racy! its always gets compliments and "I" think, although the 275 is a good looking boat, like my OL all the way!

don't want to hijack but if you decide on a 272 I have one for sale that is the best of both worlds. Cockpit space, windscreen, and new power.

how much is that 272 going for indy

i personally prefer the 25 OL's over the 272s because of the looks but im also a young kid and thats all that matters to us :) I deff dislike windshields on a go fast boat though

If you are interested call me. Then I will send pics. Don't take this the wrong way but I am done with lookers and looking for real buyers. The price of my boat is to cheap. I know. If you want to buy it with out power that is an option. $20,000. Less than either price I will keep it. (317)679-4453. Mike Bandy.

I think I am due a "fee" if you sell it as without my question this deal would not have happened. A gift card would be nice....
