36 Baja Repo

Hi All,

Any one have any information on this boat...

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...w-SST-96067464

Seems like a descent deal if its not junk. I am looking for my first boat and just started looking at Bajas. Any other info on the 36's would also be welcome...how do they handle the rough? I am down in the Virgin Islands and we have pretty rough seas. All comments and feedback welcome.

Have looked at that one on Trader also... If you zoom on the motor pix you will see where there are leaks coming from the risers and water necks (rust trails etc) as well as you can see daylight through the transom exhaust cut-outs... I'd bet those motors have more hours then that just from the "looks" of them....and the bilge looks "ehh"... I'd have the top ends gone through regardless of hours.... A motor sitting is just as bad as one that has 500 hrs on it without a re-build. Float valves...break springs etc...etc..etc... be careful...just my .02....

You are looking at a 36 as your first boat?

TampaBeach 03-16-2010 02:27 PM

BS on the hours, dash is all discolored, shifters white paint is cracking off, drivers Bolster is cummning unstitched, that boat has at least 400+ hours on it,

BTW you are looking at a 36 as your first boat????? You are asking for trouble, thats like buying a motorcycle and never ridden a bicycle??

Thanks for the advice. It does look a little rough in the pix. I am really looking for a 33 Power Play CC with outboards but haven't been able to find the right one. Just browsing around I guess. The Baja's seem well priced. How do they hold up?

If you read the write up on that boat it has more hours
then it shows. The sellers isnt standing by the hours it
showing. and the hp should be 470 not 500.

That boat needs alot of TLC.......

HOSSMAN 03-16-2010 05:23 PM

The boats hold up very well.... I have beaten up my fair share of them. But with everything it comes down to how it was cared for, I don't care if it's a Cig or a Bayliner. You ride it hard, put it up wet and not take care of it...well....there will be issues. B.ring O.n A.nother T.housand (BOAT) will ALWAYS stand true.

Like I always said when I sold them... "Dollar for dollar, bang for the buck you will not beat a Baja".

If you owner finance it I am a player :party-smiley-004:

Such a nice 33 too! I'd take a 33 over a 36 any day of the week.... again, my .02 (unless it's Dock Holiday) :drink:

Yep

Thanks for all the input. Not looking for a project so will likely pass on that boat.

The 33 OL at 68,500 is out of the budget...good looking boat though.
