What size are the cup holders in the Baja's?

Trying to order some from eddie marine and not sure if the baja's have 3 inch holder or the bigger one. I'm thinking off hand boat is away right now I need 8 for my 29

2 different sizes probably...My hammer has 2 different sizes and I've got a buddy with a 25OL that's got both sizes as well

Here's the most helpful thread I've found on it, and it's not much help...

You need the large. They are all the same size.

I replaced all of mine with the aluminum ones except the front passenger one. The grab handle is in the way. I can get the old plastic one out but not the new one in. I'm going to have to remove the handle but it is blind side mounted and I haven't gotten to pulling the panel off to get to the mounting screws. :(

I changed all of mine and didn't have to remove the handle. If you get the large ones you will have to make the existing hole bigger. I shaved enough (toward the radio) to get the new one in. The rim at the top covers the entire area. It was tight but doable. Hope this helps.

Indy did the large ones work for all 8

Yes all 8 are the large ones. Just have to make the existing hole a little bigger. That is the only option. The next size down is too small.

thanks

You gotta tilt the cupholder in the hole to get it out. I can take mine out & it is trick, but it will come out without having to remove the handle. Unless your handle is just mounted really low.

HOSSMAN 04-16-2010 06:04 PM

Where the He!!'s the color chart! There are 3 blues and lime green. Do I do blue..blue or blue or lime green in my 29??? Suggestions? (boat is blue and lime)...oh and gauge bezels...lime or chrome?

JasonSmith 04-16-2010 06:10 PM

I'm puttiong in an order to Eddie Marine right now. Pick a color & quantity.

HOSSMAN 04-16-2010 06:13 PM

Hummm... Lime bezels (double stack) for the dash....and enough blue cup holders for the cockpit...

JasonSmith 04-16-2010 06:16 PM

Need interior picts to make a good decision man!

HOSSMAN 04-16-2010 06:24 PM

Don't have any good interior pix right now. But it is blue carpet, blue monster gauges, Electric blue/Brilliant blue interior with a small lime accent....

Polished bezels.... royal blue cup holders.... Lime may be a lil too much?

JasonSmith 04-16-2010 06:39 PM

Dude, I've got 4, 4 & 5/8" flat polished bezels here, right now. I'll make you a deal on them. You want some blue holders? I'm really putting in an order.
Call me if you're serious.

BDiggity 04-16-2010 07:24 PM

when u ordering?? i was going to email you cause i need 7 cup holders. but i wont be at the boat until tomorrow to verify the sizes in the cabin. The four i cut in my dash are 3"

bajaboatnut 04-16-2010 07:56 PM

Jason,

I'm ordering the cup holders as well, Is it true that 8 large ones fit all places or do some places require the smaller one.
Thanks

HOSSMAN 04-16-2010 08:20 PM

I'll holler at ya tomorrow bro. Yeah, I am serious. Need to talk to you bout transport maybe too...

Do you think the lime green bezels would look bad? Can never go wrong with polished though.

You can never go wrong with Lime IMO! Make sure you can double stack those gauges. It has Monster gauges in it I couldn't tell if Jason's smaller gauges where the 2 5/8 or not.

I think it would look good with lime under chrome, but I would want to see the interior 1st. Know what I'm sayin?

Mine are 2 & 1/16 gauges in 2 & 5/8 holes. The 29's dash sucks for putting bezels under regardless of gauge size.
My old dash wouldn't accommodate the bezels so I bought a new 2 & 5/8 hole size panel. I had the intent of using it for a pattern & making a new dash all together but when I put the bezels up to the holes they covered it enough to make me try it. I may still wind up making a new panel with the correct size holes.

If thats the case then I know Hoss won't be double stacking the gauges. That 29 has Monster gauges and it'll be too tight between the gauges. That's the problem I ran into when I redid mine with Monster gauges.

Maybe I can just do the speedo and tach's then.... Although I thought I remembered seeing on one of the sites (don't remember if it was DANA, Eddie or ?) that there is a "slim line" ring also for tight applications.... anybody try these or know of these to know if they work????

Thanks,
MR BAJA!

firehill19 04-17-2010 09:38 AM

Hossman, just changed my cup holders on my armrests. I used to have teal ones. Well, to match my gauges (stainless rim, teal bezel) ordered stainless cup holders with a teal bezel underneath. Livorsi sells one that will work perfect for the large cup holder (3 3/4" i think). Even had Tom at TMR put blue LED in the bottom of it. Looks great!

HOSSMAN 04-17-2010 09:47 AM

Sounds awesome Keith! I like how you and Irish are helping me spend my $$$ lol.

Sad...she's not even in my driveway yet and I am already finding ways to pimp her.... (the boat, not Keli) :party-smiley-004:

firehill19 04-17-2010 10:08 AM

love spending others money. The slime line bezel is at Livorsi.

Here is a pic of my dash. Is it possible to stack these gauges if you use the slim rings on the smaller ones?????

NOPE sorry bro you have the same issue I have gauges are too close together

JasonSmith 04-17-2010 11:45 AM

Yup, not enough room. You may be able to get away with the slimline ones, but it is really tight between the fuel gauge & tacs & whatever is on the lower outside corners.

I can get the old one out by tilting it and squeezing past the handle. The new aluminum one doesn't have any give to it.

I guess I'll try to enlargen the hole a little and see if it works.
