Keith Atlanta 05-04-2010 08:17 PM

So what type of speed you finally get?

How you like the ride NOW?

TWIN-SPINS 05-04-2010 09:28 PM

ride seems to handle rough water better,,didnt loose any speed,,,stil at 82mph,,,,but iam hitting the rev limiter,,,,trying different props, which is a hell of a lot of fun,,,today had a set of hydro29 quad 4,,,,had nice bow lift and reacted to drive trim nice,,

Ebay Ed 05-04-2010 10:02 PM

not to sound stupid but just what is the purpose of the extension boxes and can you get the same results with the spacer between the transom and lower unit i am really new to the performance boating stuff

They move the drives back into cleaner water Ed and allow you to have more leverage.

And to answer your question no you can't just put a spacer there.

So same speed with same prop but picked up some RPM's.....how many? So the speed gain should come with a prop changed I suspect.

JasonSmith 05-05-2010 03:57 PM

Good! Now, get some propellers on there!

TWIN-SPINS 05-06-2010 05:17 AM

have some 34 bravo,s and a set of 30 hydro px5,,,to try out next

I'm betting you'll like the 5 blades better.

jeffswav 05-06-2010 08:27 PM

What is your drive depth? Did you use a raised box? What is your prop slip number? Good luck with your project!!

TWIN-SPINS 05-10-2010 08:56 AM

about 3-3/8,s from bottom of boat,,,16% slip,,, on average

Keith Atlanta 05-10-2010 09:29 AM

Call BBlades. More cup!

Leave the drive height there.

TWIN-SPINS 05-10-2010 11:15 AM

Lot of dough to sink into a boat to trade it.

Yup he did for a 42' Tiger

Its a buyers market. I just finished my Baja project 3 weeks ago and now its for sale. replaced it with this.

Irishtornado 09-27-2010 01:28 PM

How much for your Caliber Brian?

brian41 09-27-2010 03:36 PM

Listing it here tomorrow (if the sun comes out to take pics) for $70,000 with power and drive assemblies or $40,000 without. I just put $30,000 on the transom, $20,000 in the cockpit and $35,000 in the bilge not including labor. So pay $15,000 less than I did for the upgrades and the boat is yours for free. I will most likely pull the good stuff and buy a set of take outs with drives and sell it in the spring. It is now a 90+ boat I will know the + part Wednesday with new props. I just change the gears from 1.36 to 1.50 and had it out last week with the wife, kids and full of fuel. It ran 89.8 on the rev limiters (6000 rpm's) with stock 28 Bravo's.

XT

The 20K was more than just the interior which in real dollars was much more but I will never see that money. It included the shifters, steering wheel with tilt helm and upgrades under the floor. Labor on that part would been $10K by itself.
