32 caliber cables

Looking for info on cable length for controls and trim tabs. Some have numbers, others I can't find any number. I know I can take them out and measure but throttle and shifter both are looped under console before going back to the transom, seems too long. How long do steering cables usually last? Any direction or info would help

I had a 1994 32 Caliber and gave up trying to fix the steering cable and bought a new boat! I belive I ordered a telaflex 17' but could not get the old cable out. It was really tight on the side of the boat in the engine bay. I was told from the local marina you have to pull the engine and they quoted $1000 labor plus the $175 I already spent on the cable. I was also told by a diff mech that if you cut the cable where it goes into the steeing ram behind the engine (not sure what its called) you can pull it out and its then easier to get the new one in. If I was keeping the boat I would strongly recommend at least new cables. Its very dangerous if a cable breaks while you are driving. If its in the budget get full hydrolic steering. My new boat has it and what a difference. I will NEVER drive or ride in a boat without it now. As for the other cables. I would check the ones from the helm to the engine, and from the engine into the drive (shift). Replace before you get hurt or stranded out in the middle.
