Need help finding correct steering cable/helm
 

Well it looks like my steering cable is frozen and in an attempt to free it my helm is busted too. I wrote down the number of the cable:

Morse 304411-192IN 6989

When I look it up online it refers to a Morse Command 290 helm. I take it Morse is no longer in business or was bought by Teleflex. Anyone know how to cross reference what I have to a replacement Teleflex helm and cable?

Had to put a call into Teleflex, and was given the following information.

Cheap replacement would be the Safe-T QC (SS13716)

Upgraded would be the HPS Rotary system
Helm SH5180P
Bezel SB27484P
Steering Cable SSC6316

I went with the HPS for almost 3X the money but the Safe-T QC seemed a little too weak if I ever lost the power steering

You made the right choice! We went from Morse, to U-Flex, to cheap Teleflex, and finally the Teleflex HPS systems, all in less than 10 years at Baja. The HPS has far less play in the system, especially for a twin engine model Baja.
