baja seat mounting need some advice
i noticed the passanger seat of my 1997 272 baja has 2 scews in the front where they arent doing nething they just spin, so i took them out and got longer ones to find the same problem, so i went even longer got a set of 4inch lags and it wont screw in,im affraid cause i cant see nething down there and dont want to hit nething, its the outside bolts, the inside i can feel where the tank is they are ok.. the seat doesnt move ,but im just worried down the road it will loosen up..also when i step over the center of the boat where the tank is, the circle part where the fuel sending unit iaccess panel is, it seems soft, should i just replace the accses piece? thanks guys

Don't do what this customer did and lag his 272 to his trailer bunk! He had to put it on a different trailer to have Kevin Brown make the proper repairs. There is less that a 2" gap between the bottom of the floor, and the boat bottom at the forward outside lag screws. A 4" inspection plate is probably the best solution.

I through bolted and used locks on mine. I have a acess pannel that spins out to get to the underneath.

omg what the heck was he thinking lol.. would of been a good idea to stop after the first hole....im just gonna leave it for now, then take out the tank cover and take a look inside there, like i said the seat is tight its just 2 bolts that wont bite..

Just to remove the floor section would cause you to remove the bolsters, side rib pads, rear bench backrest, and fiberglass rear bench base. (just want to save you the effort) XT |
