1996 272 anchor hatch draining issue

On my 1996 272 when it rains on the front of the boat on where the anchor goes that little compartment always gets full of rain water and never drains. It's really annoying, the boat has a little black rubber thing on the bow that looks like that's where the water is supposed to drain from? How do I unclog this so the water can drain? Seems like something has clogged it up, is it one of those that to really get to it you really have to take out half of the cabin for something so simple as that?

Yup...pretty much "having to take the cabin panel out to get access..." they didn't make it easy, that's for sure. It's easier to remove the front cabin panel and gain access to the hose that connects the anchor locker to the drain. If at all possible, it might be wise to try and get a good blast of air alternately on both ends to possibly blow anything out. Sometimes those hoses just come loose and water is simply stopped up by debris. Poor design...good luck.

What does the front cabin panel look like? Also how do I remove it? If you can post some pictures of what it looks like that would help me out tremendously. I appreciate your help!

he is talking about the flat spot in the cuddy where the speakers are ( at least on mine ) the drain is on the starboard side of the anchor hold stick your hand down in there and feel around you will feel the drain clean it off real good it does have like a plastic screen on it that doesnt take much to cover up and hold water
