When I put my boxes on along with -2" shorties my X went up 3" and helped the ride and handling. Boat is night and day difference. My steering is mounted to wingplates on the box, but that plate I posted I have forsale will allow you to leave your steering mounted in it's current location.

I like the Imco Neutral box cause it uses the engine coupler instead of mounting shaft directly to the flywheel like the stellings adjustable box.

That looks like a nice set up. What kind of numbers are seeing with your 25? Is the power a 496HO? Stock or re-build? This will hopefully be going on a 26OL.

Yes raising and now lowering the X-dimension.Mine are the Stellings adjustable boxes 0,1" or 2" up with u-joint drive shaft and I am also using the 2" shorties

Thanks brian41... do you loose any HP with u-joint drive?

Irish, when you talk about the "neutral" box... does that mean there is no option of X-dimension adjustments?

Again.... guys thanks for the help!

Yes it's bolt on...Reason for shorties. Stellings you can adjust, which is why you have to have Ujoint/CV joint type shaft almost like one that would be on farm equipment.

I am still in the set-up process.....numbers aren't a good indication yet. Since the install my slip numbers have went thru the roof. I believe I must add a 1" spacer to current set-up. It is a 496 HO, labbed 24P B1, I see 5100ish and 65 GPS. With the prop shaft height of 3"...below the bottom...it seems to not get the bow lift that is required to get speed. As I lower the prop shaft height and tweak the prop a bit more it should improve the overall characteristics of the boat. I believe in the end after all the set up is complete, it will be a much better and safer handeling boat with the addition of hydraulic steering.

I will also like to be kept abreast of your findings.

What was your starting point or stock prop shaft height and were is the point you are talking about the bow lift and speed? Are you saying that higher the prop the slower the speed and bow lift?

Thanks!
