Are you looking for a cockpit cover or full cover? I think the only route for cockpit cover is custom either by Irish's lead or a local shop. If you are looking for a full cover try these guys... http://www.sunsolutionproducts.com/ they used to make the cover for Baja back in the day. They still stock most of the older Outlaw styles in about any color and are reasonably priced. You can, on rare occasion, find them on ebay but I have not seen one for a 29 OL in forever.
|
They don't have any of the older styles(ie. discontinued prior to 08) order of 25 or more in same color is required to order.

They do go back to 2005 but unfortunately they do not have one for the 29 Outlaw. You can order single covers not just bulk on any that they do stock. An example of price on the older style is a Black full cover for 25 OL...$580. 1-800-831-4377 |
I need a full cover i can trailer with and store for a 1999 baja 252, any ideas?
|
Westland makes very good custom fit full covers. They make with Sunbrella if you want to shell out the extra $. I had a grey sharkskin one on my 29 and was very happy with it.

What size did you get? 25 or 26 foot? wide or regular? and whats sharkskin like?
i am used to sunbrella, so whats the texture like? I would like a cover that covers the sides so the grafics are covered it possible. |
Sharkskin is poly. it's lighter than Sunbrella therefore a little easier to manage on bigger boats. Warranty is 5 years on both. Sunbrella is considered the best, but you pay for it. I've used both, been happy with both.

You'll have to get one made, but these guys will be your best source. Like I have said before, we have the original patterns that Baja used in production at the plant. I cannot match the pricing of a "semi custom" cover in a cheaper material, but we will only use the original grade Sunbrella that breaths to avoid mold issues that can be caused from other materials. Another thing to consider is that we reinforce ALL areas that contact windshields, bolsters, headrests, canvas fittings, and more. This also helps avoid color bleed on any vinyl surface from happening. I have both cockpit, and mooring cover patterns for the 29 Outlaw, and 252 models needed. XT |

I have a 252 Baja that we are redoing the interior, that I can pattern one of these in Sunbrella? Would need to know ASAP.
XT I like the fact it covers the sides. If it's just a cover for storage I've got one of those. |
Dave,
If you bunji it well enough, I would trailer with one. The later model Baja "Trailering Covers" from Commercial Sewing with the patent "Vacu-Hold" system are better for trailering, but I don't like them for storage as much because they are waterproof and can hold moisture against the vinyl surfaces. XT |
Yea I have one of the Vacu Hold ones, but don't like how it holds on the back because of the Xtended platform on the 302. Also it scratches the gell on the sides because it's always moving and doesn't have protection under it.

XT You by chance have a pattern for a cockpit cover for the 342? I typically use a full cover when there are days inbetween boating, but intend to do a lot of "quick covers" for the night next season. Putting a full cover on a 342 on the water is a pain in the a$$. |

XT |
No on the U seating. Plus mine being '99 it's the smaller cockpit.
How much for a cockpit cover? Anything but black, red or purple would be great. |
