H2X Water Leak
Water was coming in through the trim tab hydraulic hose AND the transom mounted tie down. They are normally above the water line and don't leak but I was putting the boat in the water so it was wet for a few seconds. It's all fixed now but why did it leak from those places, I thought a Boat was supposed to be watertight???

If boats were watertight we wouldn't need bilge pumps. :<
I don't think you should get MUCH leakage around there, but any through-hull fitting has the ability to let some water through. |
I thought the bilge put was there to pump the melted ice out from the cooler:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Take that black cover plate off that covers the area where the hose goes thru the transom and see if the hole needs a little bit of silicone.

Jax25- with all the problems so far this year I switched to the hard stuff, no cooler necessary:p
What's the stuff I'm looking for? Is it 5200 that's used for thru-hull fittings? Water just pisses through when I'm taking the boat in or out of the water. |
Don't use 5200. It's glue. It will bond the hose in place forever. On my 24, I had water piss thru the tab hoses when big wave action would hit it from behind. I just pulled the covers and used regular white silicone. No more piss.

Thanks!
