Dry weight is 8400 lbs,,,, you'll be near 10k fuel of fuel and gear

JasonSmith 01-01-2011 09:17 PM

Buy a trailer rated for 12k+lbs & you'll have a good margin of all the extra crap that accumulates in a boat. That stuff adds up fast.

ABOS shows dry weight of 7300lb with bbc.

My 322 was with the Trailer 9100 Lbs

186 gallons fuel = 1116lbs

20 gallons of water = 116lbs

1232 total
8400 boat

9,632

Plus gear

I agree with Jason,,,, I would get a trailer with (3) 4k axles

JasonSmith 01-02-2011 01:49 PM

Excess is barely enough. 16" wheels & 10 ply tires are a necessity! Nobody likes to be on the side of the road changing tires & there isn't a trailer mfg out there that believes in overkill when it comes to tire sizes & ratings.
I'd do 4 or 5k lb axles too with brakes on all 3 axles and get 2 spares.
Assuming you trailer or are going to trailer regularly. It is a lesson I learned the hard way. More is more gooder!

thanks for the responses

+ 1 on the 16" wheels,,,, if your having it built go with the torsion axles and electric over hyd brakes as well.

3 axle brakes drum,,,, 2 axle if you go disk

pwam1 01-02-2011 08:25 PM

My 33 Outlaw that the book shows as 7500lb. dry, (not including trailer/fuel) weighs a total of 11,900lb sitting on a tri-axle Eagle, with about 75gal. of fuel in the tank.
I have 3 6K lb. axles.
You can't have too much trailer IMO.

Never weighed my 36,,,, Doc Holiday said he was 12,600 on trailer so I used that for my weight as well.

As for cant have to much trailer,,,, not completly correct,,,, to heavy of springs for the boat weight and the trailer springs wont compress giving the boat a rougher ride.

My 322 has a dry of 8100 w/502 mags, ac and the whole kitchen sink so to speek. It happens to be on a 12K tandem, but i would recommend a tri axle so you can fully load the tank and carry several cases of corona with no issues. I pull it with a 2500 HD Duramax, easy towin'. Need help with getting a trailer look me up.
