The 36 was the one that pissed me off. 3 years old the headliner and all walls in cuddy were falling apart, had it fixed and it did it again one year later only this time it had small tears at the seams.

The foward bilge is the worst design in boat history, wet carpet in cuddy after trailering, water steps down from engine bilge.

The wood seat backs shot after 4 years on the 36

Cheap plastic parts everywhere, that break very easy. Tube swim platform flaked out. foam rot on sundeck. hatches break easy. Cabin door track sucks.

The good was good, the gauges, bolsters, engines, drives....everything that wasn't Baja. The gel and graphics good. Cockpit carpet was amazing, soft and thick.

Boat rode well, got lots of compliments, but the quality of other boats I have been in just doesn't compare.

Sounds like you have had some bad luck... or is it???
I have had 4 bajas from a 27' up to a 40' and I have never had any of said problems.

Maybe the musty odor broke the glue down? :)

Don't get me wrong, the outlaw line was a good value at my time of purchase. The problem is the higher end boats took a bigger hit in value than the mid to lower line. After seeing the interior construction of a Sonic, AT, Hustler, Advantage how can one buy a Baja for the same price?

You want a base model camaro with a corvette engine, or do you just want the corvette.....same price you pic :grinser010:

I've had 2 Baja's both used at purchase and can say I've got nothing but good things to say about both of them.

I wouldn't say if given equal playing field with boats I wouldn't rather have a 38TG, but I can't buy a 80mph 38TG for the same money I can buy say a 33OL or 36OL.

I personally think it's based on what kind of money you want to spend and what makes you happy. I've seen alot of people say boats listed are 20k overpriced, but the funny thing is ask them to drop the price of they're boat 20k and see if they'd sell it. I'm not trying to start a argument, but a boat that costs 154,000 new they expect to get for 30k and it's only 8yrs old...NOT going to happen.

Yea I'll agree the market was overpriced and it's probably a little low now, but not that low. Consider most of those are on trailers and that alone is a 8,000 investment then throw in the 500's or 525's another 25-40k seems we're up to 50k without adding the boat into the mix. JMO but a loaded out 29OL,302,33,342 or 36OL isn't going to be had for 50k not with blue power and loaded out. My .02

Not sure there are any GREAT deals,
The way I look at it is no one is building boats ,
so the Good Clean boats will hold their value,
I think the used boat market of good boats is getting thin.and you allways get what your paying for..just my 2 cents

IMO, now until about June is not the time for "deals" I think you missed the window :) September until Jan 1st seems to be the best time.

Its funny, on my lake the for sale signs and stickers start popping up in August, and then next year I see the same owner on the same boat.... put his forsale sign up in august again :)

Everyone wants a boat in the spring, and most don't want them when it comes time to winterize.

Also the repo market is big at the end of summer. I am thinking the boats are hard to locate or remove in the winter?? Maybe more guys miss payments trying to play all summer??

I hear you on that one....don't need a great deal, just a good deal.
I have no issues in paying a fair dollar for exactly what I'm looking for.
