Baja 272 mpg?

What does this boat get mpg at cruise?

And what is it's cruise speed?

a lot of variables there what engine? what prop? how many people? how much fuel? what do you consider cruising speed

I guess one or two people, 1/2 to full tank of gas...

and whatever the standard engines are for this model..

and not sure on prop either..

just doing my research...

Fuel is the cheapest part of boating. If you have to ask I would say 3-4 at cruise, if you hit it a few times that will drop. Again you have variables the engine, prop, driving habbits, no wake zones, ect...

Well, my friend has one and here are his numbers:
2000 Baja 272, 502 mag mpi, 23p Mirage plus prop.
Cruise speed is high 40s, around 3500- 3800 rpm
Mpg is probably 2-3, but I don't think we have ever worried about it, like was said, gas is the cheapest part of boating.
Top speed is 64mph@5000 rpm. Speed is gps, rpm is tach indicated, but I don't think his tach works correctly.

Hope this helps

Is there a big differnence between your 27' and 33' out on Lake Michigan?

Thanks guys for the figures... others?

HUGE DIFFERENCE, plus a 33 will have twin engines. There really is no comparison other than they are Bajas...

A 33 baja is actually larger than a 35 Fountain as stated in your other thread. If you are truly comparing, you need to look in the apple orchard or the orange orchard, but not each at the same time, Just a suggestion...

My recommendation is this: Buy the most expensive line you like and can afford... You will be happier longer before you get the itch to go bigger.... Boats cost LOTS of money up front and they never quit costing money.... It is an emotional purchase so like the one you buy!!!!!

What kind of boats have you had in the past?

I don't really have any boating experience worth mentioning... so just looking at all of my options..

Huge,,,,, to put it plainly,,,,,we went everywhere with the 272 on Lake Michigan,,,,,,,I can now go across the lake with out my wife screaming at me !!!!

But I went from a 272 to a 36 Outlaw,,,,

The 272 is a great 1st performance boat though.
