250es prop for top speed

hey ive had my 250 for a couple years now im running a blown 454 making 610hp (dynoed). I gps with 3/4 tank and 4 ppl on board 71mph. but i am running a revolution 4 blade 25p @ 5600 rpm. what props are best for top speed on this boat, also has anyone played with nose cones? thanks joe

Call Brett @ Bblades for your propeller selection. The most common thought on nose cones is don't waste your $$ on one unless you're going over 80mph. Additionally, if you don't have hydraulic steering on your boat the nose cone will exacerbate drive side loading when backing out of the throttle quickly which will cause a sharp turning of the boat to one side which leads to broken ribs. I speak from experience.

ive talked to bret and brad, but they have limited knowledge with this exact model. This is my weekend boat i have a 26ft cat that runs 102 so i understand all the steering and other bs.. Im just trying to see what other ppl are getting out of this hull with similar power and how they are getting there without spending all summer prop testing.

If you have a stock x dimension, about best for speed is the mirage plus. If engine is making best power in the upper rpms try a 25 pitch mirage plus three blade for a base and go from there. Might try a 27 pitch for base line if you do not need to turn as many rpms, but most likely the 454 needs the higher rpms to make that kind of power.

Gotta stick with the 4 blades was getting to much blow out with 3 blade getting on plane. i was even going to go down to a 24, it makes peak power at 5850 to get more rpm. Also its stock x dimension.

joe go with the 25 mirage not the plus that wt i use i have 718hp. i found the ols mirage work real good . the plus give me to much bow lift too. 1 was spining the 25mirage 5600rpm doing 77 to 80 mph with my old motor with 600hp. i try 4blade prop . no good for me the best was the old mirage prop

Bob where you running a blower or is that n/a power... my problem is i have to be real light on the throttle since it makes lots of low end tq with the 3 blades
