Battery cable
 

I was wondering if anyone knows the battery cable size in a 25ol? I'm going to install a 2nd battery and need to get cable on order. Boat is a state away at the moment......Thanks

Ate you adding another switch? Whenever I've added batteries I just used whatever autozone/walmart/meyer had. Nothing special if you're piggy backing off existing battery.

Yes I'am installing a switch and isolator. The boat came with a single battery, no switch. I'm adding approx. 5 feet of extra cable length so I'm going to install larger battery cables.

Chit can the isolator and use a combiner. Doesn't require any alt rewireing and you don't have a voltage loss with a combiner as the isolators do.

Isolaters are yesterdays technology. ;)

Are you just adding a 2nd battery for backup?
2AWG is common size battery wire size. Amp load and wire lenght determines wire size, not what is available at your local autozone.

The 2nd battery is for a stereo system. Do you know how much loss you have with an isolator? And yes marine cable will be used.

US1 thanks for the ACR info. I don't know how I missed this when researching the 2nd battery install. Seems that Blue Sea has this figured out. I like the idea of no switch to mess with. Even though I already have a switch and isolator this seems like a better solution for my situation.
