26 Outlaw Transom Angle

I was wondering if anyone in the know has the transom angle of the 26 Outlaw line?

Thanks in advance for the help. :drink:

You trying to figure out if the extension box is going to add or subtract from your prop height?

TW720HVY 03-26-2011 10:34 AM

That is correct.

I am also considering going with the IMCO 3 up if it will work... the CMI's may be a limiting factor with the hatch clearance if I raise the motor 3 inches.

I'd go with -2 shorty before I'd raise the motor.

That is what others have said as well and I will more than likely go with that set up.

Just hope to get a transom angle so I know exactly what will happen when everything is put together.

I gained a inch putting extension boxes on mine. Total of 3" with -2 shorties.

It's probably the standard 13 or 13.5 as most boats, but you can also measure it yourself. I think you just need a straight edge coming off the bottom of the hull, and then put a straight edge or board against the transom, and see what the angle is.

You could also take a piece of plywood and mock up the cross section of what the extension box is - 13ºin 13º out (or whatever it is) and flush it up against the transom and see where your drive will be.

That is what I am hoping for. I was getting worried when some were saying I would loose an inch.

That is a good idea, but hopefully someone will post the answer saying the angle is 11.583º or something like that. :drink: :drink:

+1 Raising them 3 inches creates a lot of issues you might not have thought about yet... Such as issues with the inner transom plate and exhaust and its all a pain in the a$$.

I don't think your going to be that lucky. Everyone I know thats done it on a Baja has either been even or gained. Only other option is to go with the Stellings adjustable box.

Be careful as having it too deep isn't good neither is having it too high.

I am going to go with the neutral, seems to be the most straight forward approach. Hopefully. :party-smiley-004:

All the parts that I got from Baja that had to do with the transoms were either marked 12 and 13 degrees. I believe the Outlaw series were 13 degree transoms.

brain41... thanks for the reply and information.

WOTW2E 03-27-2011 09:36 PM

14 degrees.

Adam has the correct answer on this one. No series had a consistent angle. Newer models like the 26 were normally 14 degrees.

Sounds like your going to be neutral Rick. You won't gain from the box, but you'll gain 2" with shortie.

TW720HVY 03-28-2011 08:22 AM

XT, thank you for the great information.

Dave... that is what I am more than likely going to go with. Some have suggested the 3" but then they will not work with the Bravo.

Nope with the -3 you'll be buying a Imco upper as well.

You won't be sorry you did it. The ride and handling is night and day.

Just make sure you use PLENTY of 5200 so you don't have any leaks. I'm not sure if your doing it yourself or having someone do it.

Both... I will be helping or doing it.

I have a place that will have secure "big truck" parking... in fact it the same place where the work will move than likely be done. :drink:

13 like most of the models we designed in the early 90's.
