1999 29 outlaw motor question
 

Does anyone know if the 496mag 375hp motors were offered in 1999 29 outlaw? I was wondering because its a 2 owner boat and the 2nd owner is telling me there original motors.

I don't think so. Pretty sure that merc was still making the 454 and 502 mpi at that time. I could be wrong though. XT would be the man to ask. My 98 came stock with 454 carb motors.

No the 496 mags were not avail in 99.

I would say no also, It wasn't even offered in 2000.

First year for the 496 in a Baja was 2001.

Ok, thanks for your help. I knew about 01' the first year, but did not know if you could custom order it. I dont like the idea of the motor swap. Its an 01 outlaw for 28k custom paint and was hoping it was a decal. Stock color interior. Pretty nice boat tho. I think im just going to stay on the hunt for the 275. I keep hearing goods and bads for the 496mag/ho. But i do like that motor over the others.
