Insurance on 33 Outlaw

I`m getting quotes around $1000-$1200 (well actually Boat USA was $1660) does that seem reasonable?

Thanx

Dan

Mines a "g" a year

We need more details about the boat (motors, HP, value) and you (age, driving record)

To me it is high, it cost me $400 per yr for my 342 with no lay up period.

400.00 a year?

I pay around 900.00

1200.00 seems about right to me.

My 33 was around 700 a year and the 47 is $1,200 a year. See if you can get State Farm to take you.

Baja_342 04-14-2011 08:18 AM

I pay just under $500 a year through State Farm for my 342 with 502s.

Agreed value ($60K)

36 yrs old
All my insurance has always been through them. Never a claim in 20 years I've been with SF.

BDiggity 04-14-2011 08:25 AM

i am at a grand a year w/ 91 35' w/ 525's. tried 3x to get state farm to cover it since they have our house, cars & umbrella, but wouldnt take it. ended up using worldwide

ICDEDPPL 04-14-2011 08:55 AM

I had a claim two years ago, bought me a new drive and then cancelled the policy,(Metlife) so now I`m with Progressive, I`ll try State Farm.

Thanx

If everything goes well I`ll be joining the Baja ranks by Sunday.

What insurance company?!?!?

502`s
$50K
38 years old
One claim on boat, driving record clean.

baja pete 04-14-2011 09:25 AM

I looked last night, it is $442.73 per year with State Farm.

2000 342 with 454 mags, 40 yrs old, clean driving record, no claims. Agreed value $65K

I wouldn't start calling 800 numbers blind with SF. A relationship with a specific agent can make a world of difference. If you currently do not have anything through them I suggest a friend, family member, another local OSOer, etc recommend someone.

wreckedbikes 04-14-2011 10:36 AM

$800 A YR 29 outlaw with 2 454's with progressive.

ICDEDPPL 04-14-2011 08:27 PM

$802 with State Farm but I have my cars and house with Nationwide, $1000 deductible is $762/year ($50K) with Farmers thru Nationwide.. however that works.

I am so jealous of you guys with STATE FARM. I have properties, three vehicles, atvs, RV and life insurance and they denied me coverage after an underwriter looked at it. I paid them the $700 that they quoted for a year. Got the call from them that they could not insure the boat due to "high performance". What really made me mad was that the newly purchased boat was already in transit!!! Nice to find out it wasnt insured?! Got on the phone with progressive and had binding insurance with a credit card payment. Progressive will insure anything up to 1000 hp with no speed restriction, according to my phone rep. By the way mine with progressive is $1200.

It's ALL about your agent at State Farm and them going to bat for you with the underwriter. They have to have a good relationship with their underwriter.

five cent worth 04-15-2011 03:19 PM

Just to add another data point:

State Farm w/ home, two cars & jewelry
28 yrs old
clean driving record
245 slug w/ 496

$420/yr
Value = $45k w/trailer
