Where can I get a graphics template for my boat?

Every time I see a thread about someone changing their graphics they have a nifty little template with a bunch of graphic options to make comparisons easy. Do these exist already, or are they something that graphics shops come up with when they are contracted to redo a boat?

are you referring to the images they get from doing a vinyl wrap? if so the graphics shop will work with you on layouts and you would have them as references so you can see what it would look like wrapped - prior to pulling the trigger on having it installed. FYI - if you were to wrap your boat ive seen some killer wraps and relatively cheap! like 2-3k installed

Only i'm looking for a blank one for a 24 outlaw so I can mess around with designs and colors. I haven't thought far enough ahead yet to weigh the pros and cons of a wrap vs new gelcoat.

Hmm? not sure, id still call a couple places that do wraps, they seem to get them from somewhere. good luck - post pics once you get something working!

What is your experience with creative software such as illustrator and photoshop? I just went through the same thing with my 99 272. But, Graphic Design and advertising is what I do. If you can a pdf file of the drawing, such as the one above, typically it's a vector format image written as a pdf. What you can do is open that pdf with Illustrator and and it will allow you to modify the vector file - colors, patterns, etc. If it's an image then the best thing to do is to place that image into illustrator and just use the line segment tool and trace it off and create your own template. Just take a note, Baja measures their boats pretty weird. My 272 is 27' 2" according to Baja, and it is, if you measure according to the rub rail and account for the bow in the bow and the radius of the turn in the back corner. lol Nose to tail in a straight line, she ends up at 26' 5". Doesn't seem like a big difference, but wait until you are trying to get graphics to line up. Good Luck!

Thanks! Actually been here a while just haven't posted. But seeing as my baja is getting wrapped tomorrow and I just went through this whole template thing too so I hope a little friendly advice will help! :)

Why don't you just save the Outlaw image you posted as a BMP file and use it? Paint isn't the easiest program to work with but it would get you a blank image.

I think I found a few graphics templates on the internet before just by doing a search. I'll try again.
