Tring to install fiberglass vent cover on a 342 baja. Anyone know how they did it! Need help? Im not sure what adhesive they used, but it was a hard type epoxie I think? but I cant find any thats white that will match the boat? did they gel over it? I dont think there was white caulk? when i got the boat the vent covers were already off? anyone on here have any first hand knowledge?

I would use 3M's 4200.

I agree. Probably 4200 or 5200.

Where did you end up finding the vents?

More pics on progress!

I had 2 baja 342's. One was a 2003 model, the other is a 2006. The 03 was striped and before i sold it last week i made a mold off of it. Turned out nice! I just came out of the paint booth from spraying gel coat on it!. I have been rebuilding this boat for over a year now! hoping to have it out on memorial weekend!!!
I was looking at the other 3m stuff and I was wondering about 3m 4000 ul?

It wasn't 4200 or 5200 they used. I can't recall off top of my head but it dries hard like epoxy.

im wondering if they used some epoxie to attache it. then put something else that was white and also hard around the seam?

It's gelcoat mixed with a Clevisil(sp)

did they use a two part epoxie to fastin it first? there looks to be some type of yellow adhesive underneath it?

It is a methacrylate adhesive called Plexus.

Jusy use 4200. It comes in white and will work nicely.
