Overflow for holding tank?

Does my holding tank (for the head) on my 36 outlaw have an overflow? What happens when the holding tank gets too full?

Since it's illegal to dump it overboard (except far offshore) I assume it just backs up to where it came from........into your head and all over the floor.

Comes out the tank vent and runs down the side of your boat.

Is this an actual holding tank, or the tank on a porta potty?

It also ruins the filter when the tank over fills!

Better replace it before the smell gets in and you really have problems.

I cannot imagine getting it so full to run over. Of course we would pump ours after every weekends use to be sure and prevent any smell.

Thanks for your help. It is an actual holding tank but I think I may have a bigger problem. It (yes, the sewage) has found its route to the engine compartment so I am wondering if the holding tank did not get enough antifreeze last winter and froze, cracking the holding tank. This is not going to be a fun job.
