Looking at 97 180
 

I posted this on another forum but haven't had any response and figured this would be a better place for Baja specific feedback anyhow.

Looking at a 1997 180

Has a 5.7 Merc, upgraded sound, Captains choice. Looks in good condition from the posting.

Going to take a look at it later this week, he's asking 10 flat. NADA (lol..) has it at about 7600, equipped with the 5.7. Says it's really clean, been winterized and well cared for. Says transom is good, no water leak/damage. Selling because he wants a dedicated ski boat. I would definitely be getting a survey done, too.

Any thoughts (or recommendations on where/what to ask?)

Other potentials (that I haven't looked into too much yet) are:
1995 208 Islander w/5.7 @11400
and a 1994 188 w/350 mag and Captains choice.

Where are you boating? How will you boat? 18' is not a lot of boat unless you plan on doing your water sports before we get out of bed and tear up the lake:)

Boating in the Midwest; Bloomington, Indiana for the most part (Lake Monroe). The length is something I had thought about, but not really considered. I'm looking for something with enough juice to do most water sports, but also still be fairly easily trailerable. I was aiming for the 18-21' range, so this is definitely on the lower end.
