New baja motor is done
Made couple dyno pulls yesterday. Real nice strong tq curve. The first pull was with 29 degress of timing. and at 3000 rpm it was making 580 ft lb of tq and stayed above 580 to 5000 rpm. air fuel is real rich but thats nice and sfe. best pull made 568hp and 599ft of tq with 34 degress. i left the jets alone, they are 102 square. could have made more power by more timing and leaning it out, but i wanted to make sure its not gonna hurt anything. So im real happy with the numbers. guess im gonna need a lil more prop now. Motor is basiclly a 525SC, but it has been bored .060 so its 468 cu in, SRP Pistons, Eagle I Beam rods. Stock heads, stock blower with stock boost. Cam has been upgraded to a comp cams, Hyd Roller. specs are 226-236 @ .050 .587/.601 lift on a 112.

Your engine is similar to mine except that Im running a Comp flat tappet cam. How much boost, 5.5psi? I use SRP flat tops .060, and see 5.5psi boost. BL |
i wasnt able to hook up a boost guage on the dyno, and the boat never had one on it. so im not sure. im planning to install one soon to be able to monitor it. been told the stock boost is 4-5,

the first thing I would get that vacuum boost gage in the boat!!its a good diagnostic tool also. |

yep, that would be them, when the lifter collapsed and broke it messed up the lifter bore so i had them put all bronze bushings in the lifter bores. My engine builder uses them all the time. They do some real nice work, and also do some of the machine work for precision marine. i would have liked to have dynoed at precision marine since i would be able to get a more in the boat number, since i could use my manifolds and everything else. but their dyno was down, i know going in the boat i will lose some but this was able to get me a good base line for some tuning info. Hard to complain about 600 ft lb of tq too

Should be a blast in your boat. Did you run it in stock form in the same boat before?

im still somewhat new to the boat. just bought it from a buddy begining of the year. so still kinda getting used to it honestly. but best before the lifter collapsed, was 66 mph at 5000 rpm with a 24 Bravo prop. that has been worked with more cup. someone more used to driving better might be able to get faster. im not sure if the setup before was a full 525 or not. I had made a post while back about a 24 top speed cause i thought it should have been faster. with the new motor i am planning to have the currect prop reworked to a 26. hoping to be able to run in the mid 70s while still having a decent holeshot. not always lookin for top speed since alot of time i have 6-8 people with me. so top end is not as much of a concern.
