About the hydraulic steering....I've seen a couple interesting things. There is a system by Drew Marine called the sidewinder....much less expensive. I think it is around $900. Has anyone heard or seen that? It's definitely not full hydraulic, but at 1/6 the cost....if it has half the impact as full, it would be a great buy. |

There are no free rides in this sport. Once you drive a boat w/full hydraulic steering, you will not want to be without it.

I had a 99 25 Outlaw with a 502 and whipple supercharger running 4 lbs of boost. It would do just above 80. I put hydraulic steering on it right after I got it. Mine was not full hydraulic to the helm just add on, but it still made a big difference. I think I ended up using a 27 pitch mirage plus prop that was tweaked quite a bit.

I put the Drew Marine Stabilizers on my old 22 Scarab. They definitely helped, but are not even close to full hydraulic which I have on my Velocity. The full hydraulic will hold it straight.

Yeah, my 26 has full hydraulic. It is on rails at full speed. no chine walking. no nothing.
stable as can be. |
